Great shoe, not so much for the water.
First, this is an absolutely lousy all purpose water shoe for Texas beaches. It actually does really well in the water under controlled conditions, but you will get lit on fire when hot beach sand permeates up through the vents on the soles. Another issue those vent holes present are being too numerous to provide real protection from potential beach hazards like sea glass, old treble hooks, jagged shells, jellyfish, etc.If you drive to the beach and can park close enough to wet sand, plan little activity (I.E. sunbathing only), then no worries. Same thing with the lake or backyard pool. Since I walk back and forth to beach over long stretches of white sand and then play / swim with my family, this shoe is not an option. In fact, I was luckily rescued by my next door neighbor who noticed I was sprinting down the dunes like a cat on a hot tin roof and yelled at me to jump on her golf cart. She then drove back home and I swapped out shoes. The reason I gave this shoe 5-stars and think so highly of it is quality construction, light weight and breathability. After realizing they weren’t going to work as beach shoes, it dawned on my the Aleader shoes have the potential to make them an ideal Texas men’s house slipper. The biggest problem with traditional house slippers here in the south is most of them are lined with material that make your feet constantly sweat, even in the winter. This means they are uncomfortable, then start to stink rather quickly while being non washable. The Aleader is a vented water shoe, which breathes and my feat don’t get uncomfortable. As soon as I get home, I kick off my outdoor shoes and then slip on the Aleader. Some folks like Crocs for inside shoes, but I just don’t like the way they navigate over hidden house hazards like legos or marbles...which will make you start to speak in tongues if you happen to go barefoot over one of these type of toys. The Aleader has no issues. The Aleader is actually as comfortable as going barefoot, does not mar floors, can handle wet mopping, chemicals cleaners and appears extremely durable. In fact, I like them so much that I’ve picked up extra pairs for each of our homes.

Stylish blend of water shoe, sandal, and sneaker
These water shoes are a nice mixture of shoe, water shoe, and sandal. If I'm going to the beach or boardwalk area, then I put these on and wear them. The shoes dry quickly with the exception being the insoles take longer to dry because of their construction material. Comfort-wise: I'm able to wear them for a day or night out without worrying about my feet aching. I do wear socks with them until I get in the water just to lower the blister potential. Fitment: Pretty much spot on for a men's U.S. size 9, regular width. Plenty of room in the toe box area. My foot size is between 8.5-9 wide so I went up a size. I'm glad that I did so because the 8.5 would have been too narrow at the heel. Personal wish is that they made wide sized versions. Upper material is really breathable and comfortable on a naked foot. Sole material is soft, yet firm enough to protect the foot from the ground. Traction is favorable on wet or dry surfaces. No comment on visibly oily surfaces as I haven't traversed any said surfaces to give an accurate review. The sole openings do attract rocks so, from time to time, you will be picking them out but that's a fair tradeoff for the water drainage.Final assessment is that they are worth the price. You can wear them in or out of the water. Put them on for a quick day trip and not look out of place.

Very light, but slightly large
I haven't had a need to wear as water shoes yet, so take this for what it's worth. I can give my initial impressions though. They are extremely light and feel very comfortable (that is why I went ahead and answered the question above "how long can you wear comfortably"). They were much easier than my previous water shoes to put on, but may be partially due to the overall bigger size (and is the reason I am posting now). I would suggest if questioning size to go smaller (if between sizes, etc.). These have better toe protection than my previous ones and firmer, more protective sole, so I expect them to protect my feet in the river better. They are a little bit too large, but not enough to return. I cannot speak to the functionality or durability as of yet, but it LOOKS and FEELS to me that they will drain and dry fast. I look forward to trying them out as intended. They look pretty good too. I took one star because I think they are just a bit long for the size stated and wanted to get that posted to those considering. I hope they will hold up as they are very comfortable.

Excellent water shoe!!! True to size!!!
I’m very happy with these reef shoes. Bought them last minute for a trip to the Bahamas, where I knew I’d need a decent reef shoe for hiking on beaches and wet limestone rock formations. I wish these had an odometer because I’d love to see how many miles I put on them. It was a lot, trust me. And they excelled. Very lightweight, comfortable. The perfect shoe for that environment. Also, at least in my case, they fit true to size - meaning, if you wear a size 11 shoe, then order a size 11 water shoe. It will fit properly. The manufacturer has figured this out.Now that we’re back home in Hilton Head SC, I’m planning on wearing these shoes on the boat, sand bars, etc. I’ll wear these till they fall apart! In summary, I am very very happy with them. My wife also bought a pair same time I did, and she loves them too.

Love them
So far I really like them. Fit as expected. Comfortable. All that is left to completely satisfy me, is to see how durable they are. I just received them today, so I'm not able to write about how durable they are yet. I will update this review after I am able to comment on their durability.UPDATE:I didn't purchase these for strictly water use. I wear them as my slip on casual shoe. They are comfortable and are handling my everyday wear well. I live in central Missouri where it is fairly humid during the summer and the dew on the grass is always pretty heavy so being how I wear socks with these as daily casual shoe, my socks get wet. And they pick up rocks in the soles fairly easy. All in all, I am really satisfied with this shoe. Comfortable, durable and not very expensive.

Very impressed.
I've worn these multiple times now in the rain and in water they are remarkably comfortable and they stay very firmly on my feet I'm really impressed with them Id like to get another pair maybe lace up ones next time they're ideal for a warm climate where it rains seasonally.
