What is the thread and length of the tines bolts? i want to replace them with socket head cap screws bolts.

No thread at all. The prongs are hollow to evenly dispense the soil that you’re aerating. It comes with an Allen wrench.

How far forward does one go before placing the unit back into the lawn for another plunge?

Great question! The aerator should be forced into the soil repeatedly, with force. If this is done correctly, you'll begin to see those cores self-eject on about the fifth or sixth plunge. Regarding spacing, we recommend aerating so that the holes are about 3 inches apart throughout your lawn.

What is the diameter of the tines? I have gopher mesh and want to know if the tines will fit thru. Thx

The distance between the tines is 3 ½”, the length of the tines is 5 1/16”, and the inside diameter of the tines is ¾”.
