these are great for growing plants in water

Oblong, not round!
Oblong shape limits the rolling issue with round pebbles. Thank you!

As advertised
A little larger in size than I would have preferred but still usable for what I was doing. The best thing is that they were nice and clean - didn't require washing.

It’s huge!
I thought it was supposed to be 2 pounds but the bag is huge and almost full. I have enough to fill a 2 inch layer of a 5 gallon tank. Fill as a bottom for my alocasia and enough to completely fill out a 6 inch planter with few left over. They are too big for me to directly use as a substrate only but it has plenty of other uses. Its drainage capability is wild. It soaked up about an inch and a half of water at the bottom of my terrarium in 2 days, no mold as of yet.

My orchids are doing really good in this medium. Saw a u tube vedio using this and large square plastic water bottles. No soil at all. Orchids have been in this new medium for a bit over a month and new leaves and roots appearing on all of the plants.

The best leca so far!
So much better than the one I just recently purchased! These are larger in size compared to the other but lightweight. Also, it wasn’t dirty/dusty/gritty so it was really easy to prep! Just wished it was sold in larger quantities😔

Maybe I’m using it wrong
Not sure I was using in the correct manner, I was trying to use it for rooting cuttings. I pre-rinsed before use, but ended up with moldy coleus cuttings with little root growth. Product did work well with sweet potato vine cuttings cut at the same time and in the same manner. Those rooted extremely well and no mold. All plant material had been washed in soapy water and rinsed prior to use. Maybe it’s just the type of plant and its preference both with moisture and light. I used in both the window and under grow lights. Pebbles are light weight and come in a zip top bag. I’ve allowed mine to dry and be stored again. Will try again soon with new cuttings and see what happens. Oh, when pouring out of the bag make note it can have a lot of product dust associated. Maybe it’s a learning curve to find what plants work well w/the product.
