Easy to install
I have never had to do any type of work like this but I needed to stop the rain from going down my chimney which Had gotten plugged up. It wasn't hard to figure out how to assemble it and install. Works just fine!

Note the bolts are long thus allowing you to ajust to a diffrent size chimaney
I purchased this Duro shield cover and was very pleased with the shipping speed and the ease of putting it together was a breeze, so do not freak out, when you see all of the hardware to put this unit together. Also included in the box was 4 mesh screens to keep visitor's out, Birds, squeal's, etc., etc., if you have those issues. I did not use them as I have no trees over my house. As a reminder put the main brace together first,; but do not tighten the hardware as you will need to adjust them during install.Respectfully Submitted,

Fit perfectly and has so far withstood a NH winter
Fits precisely on a cinderblock chimney and tightened down well. Snow and high winds in the foothills of Mt. Cardigan have not fazed it. Looks great, also.

... mechanical fastener into the brick or mortar is more sturdy than a clamping band
The mounts are a little flimsy and I do think a mechanical fastener into the brick or mortar is more sturdy than a clamping band, but it does get the job done and if you're fairly crafty you should be able to figure out a way to improve the mounts for your application.

Well made and fast shipping
Shipping was fast from the supplier and actually arrived faster than items shipped directly from Amazon. The product is well made and has already survived 60mph winds that occurred during a storm.

Prepare to spend at least 20-30 minutes assembling this. Bracket holes were undersized and needed to be enlarged. Everything has sharp edges so work carefully.Supposed to work on chimneys as small as 15.5". Mine is exactly 16" square and fully tightened, the flexy 18g aluminum band was so loose it probably wouldn't hold up against a 10mph gust of wind, much less the 60mph gusts we get in the winter without securing it with masonry screws driven through the band into the chimney.
