A great product, maybe the best option in it's class
----------------The good----------------Before ordering this I spent hours and hours researching all the dozens, maybe even hundreds, of options for TV sync light strips. I did not want to have to use the camera style, so I wanted the HDMI sink box style, which this is. I ordered a couple of products in this category and compared them. This product had the best response time, and the LEDs are much closer together than the majority of strips, which makes color changing and moving look much more fluid instead of like a choppy changing where you could see each individual LED cast on the wall like a slideshow. This product has a very long LED strip allowing you to use it on a bunch of different size TVs and you can trim it to fit your needs which is great. It's also protected by like a silicone cover instead of the bear strips. The app also allows you to set the vertical and horizontal sizes so that the LED in each corner is properly calibrated which is another great feature. Overall the product worked great and had great brightness and colors, probably even better than other options in many ways, was easy to use, and just worked well right out of the box.------------The Bad **they made things right, no more complaints, check the update**------------The problem is that the HDMI sync box died within a couple hours of use. When I first got the product I installed it and tested it out and it was fine, it got about an hour of run time, and then I unhooked it all to set it back up in a more permanent way and get the TV wall mount set up and things like that, so I actually didn't plug it back in for quite some time after first trying it. I then rolled it back up and gathered the accessories and put them into the box that it came in, and I put this box into a storage drawer and didn't touch it for a while, and the next time I try to use it it was just dead. TV USB power input did not work at all even though it did in the beginning, and I had to use the auxiliary power to even get the unit to turn on. And although the lights on the box would come on the lights on the strips did nothing, and I was unable to reset the device even though I followed the instructions and tried everything. You're supposed to just hold a certain button for three to five or maybe 10 seconds, and then it would reset and the lights would start flashing quickly but that never happened. No matter what I did it would not reset, and I was unable to get any output to the light strips, and I was unable to connect to the product to try to set it up no matter what I did. When I first got the product at worked just fine and I set it up on my phone and was able to do things with it, but now it is impossible to get it into a pairing state or to connect to anything or to reset etc, there's nothing that I can do with it now it just has to be replaced which is a pretty big expense for something that had maybe an hour of use on it.-------------Update-----------The day after posting the above review, Mzunled reached out and offered a full refund, no questions asked and no strings attached for this product which is well beyond the normal warranty and return period. Based on their quick and generous customer service, I can now fully recommend this product once again. New products may have been released recently that best it, but from my original research this is the best option for TV syncing backlight at a reasonable price.

Won't Sync To Video
Followed the instructions perfectly. Everything is hooked up correctly. Every single mode works great EXCEPT syncing with video. I can put random light displays on while the videos play and sync the lights to the audio of the movies, but it will not work on "video" or "wide-screen" mode. The lights on one side light up signifying that it's receiving power/signal, but the HDMI input light doesn't light up. Maybe the control box is broken?I am so upset the video sync won't work! That's the only reason I got it. The other modes were just bonus modes to me.

Immersive and pretty awesome
The media could not be loaded. Certainly gives a wow factor to your white walls! The immersion setting works really well; no lag, great color matching. It makes big splashy visuals look wilder, movies more dramatic, and even adds to the experience of sit coms and less flashy television.I was not impressed by the music setting. No matter what I put on (even lofi / gentle piano) the lights flashed wildly like a rave. I couldn’t tell that it was related to the music at all. So if that’s what you want, probably look elsewhere. However, you can use the app to select from a number of “vibes” which will produce cool visuals no matter what is happening on the screen (static Spotify playlist etc). You can also select any color from the color wheel if you’re trying to match to the rest of your set up.It does not come with a remote. There is a toggle setting in the app that says “turn on/off with tv power” but that doesn’t seem to do anything. You can turn it on/off in the app or with Alexa/home assistant.InstallationThis light strip gets its information from hdmi. Personally, I like that and it made set up easy (no messing with camera mounting), however if you don’t use an hdmi connection (you have only a smart tv or something) you can’t use it, and if you often switch between multiple hdmi connections, you might prefer a camera based option.Installation is pretty easy, although it was somewhat challenging to get positioned quite right. Pay close attention to the diagram showing the bottom corner - where the beginning of the strip meets the end of the strip. This is where you will cut away the excess. The light strip will determine where the corners of the tv are by dividing the length that you cut it to. So, it’s not really possible to see until after you make the cut. I figured “close was good enough”, but that made the strip miscalculate the dimensions of the tv. It wasn’t a big deal, I was able to adjust and restick it, but just follow the diagram as closely as possible and it should be fine. The corner brackets may not work out for you depending on what the back of your tv is like. Mine isn’t perfectly flat. But, honestly the brackets aren’t really necessary. Just mimic the diagram without them if you need to.

The video sync does not work :(
Had no problem installing the strip lights. App setup was... and adventure. There are instructions, but they are a little disorganized and written by someone who has English as a second language. Never the less, we were able to complete the setup and test the lights out. Here's the big issue: the video sync did not work. At all. All of the other modes and functions work fine. There are a few presets for cycling through colors in various patterns, but it's honestly pretty limited. Audio sync worked, color selection worked, but the whole point of this kit is that the lights should sync to the video and we just absolutely could not get that to work. The Seller was extremely helpful, even sent us an alternate control box, because everything works but the HDMI input light doesn't appear to activate brightly or flash, so we thought maybe the control box hardware was just borked. We have a Samsung Q70A, and I've seen other reviewers mention issues with HDR. I think the firmware is just is not compatible with a lot of modern TVs.If all you want are some strip lights that sync to music or cycle through colors/patterns, there are options that are a fraction of the price.
