Slippery when Wet & Catches Dirt
I got this mat while it was on a great sale. I have another mat by prAna that I love and wanted to try another of their mats. This one looks beautiful. It has a firm, smooth surface that feels sticky/grippy. When I started practicing though I noticed that the slightest amount of sweat made the mad VERY slippery. Down-dogs were difficult to maintain posture and wild-thing was nearly dangerous. So, unless you do not sweat you might want to choose another mat. Also, because of the slightly sticky surface all the dog hair from my house and the dirt from my feet, and any crumbs or dirt on the floor are stucky to the mat. So, the shiny surface just gets dusty and dirty pretty quickly.I am going to give the mat a few more practices before I donate it to someone else and I'll update my review if I am wrong but so far .... just not ideal mat for a sweaty dog (or cat) loving person who goes barefoot sometimes.

and was good for hot yoga
I did so much research before purchasing this mat. I wanted something that was 5mm thick, and was good for hot yoga. Ive tried it a couple times now and I simple cannot use it. It repels any moisture so you are constantly sliding around. On top of this, if you have pets or any lint in your house at all it will cling to this mat and leave it looking really dirty and gross. I was finding myself embarrassed in class having to pick off cat hairs and random lint even though I have it stored in a yoga bag when I am not practicing. I used it MAYBE 6 times before I decided to cut my losses and just use a different mat I bought for my boyfriend. I love prAna as a brand but I am really sad that I made the mistake of purchasing this mat.

Too rough/sticky but slippery
I do vinyasa mostly in regular and hot environments. I found this to be too rough to pull/slide my toes forward and back in regular temps, but when sweating, was slippery for my hands. Also it really attracts lint which is super stuck to it. Annoying. Not loving it.
