High Quality Display - approved by a monitor-snob :)
I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to the monitors I use for work. I've had no luck finding a portable/travel monitor worth keeping, UNTIL NOW. Although it's a bit more expensive, it's worth every cent. This is the best portable monitor for traveling. It's lightweight, has a perfect size/high-quality display, and a sturdy multi-use magnetic cover that works as a stand with 2 tilt options. My only con (which is not truly a con if you're main use for this monitor is a second display while traveling with your laptop) is, it must be plugged directly into your laptop's USB-C port. It would be a huge bonus if it could also be used at home with my docking station's USB-C port as a 3rd monitor. Overall 10/10, highly recommend for a high-quality display portable travel monitor / second display for your laptop.

Superb quality for a lightweight portable monitor
I tried another popular portable monitor with 1080 resolution, 800:1 contrast ratio and 250 nits. It was good enough to get the job done but seemed to be nothing more than an extension of my company provided laptop screen. That's fine for 90% of people, but I was looking for more as I'm no longer 35 years old and seeing matters now. This LG is a slightly larger display due to it's aspect ratio, 16:10, so in horizontal mode it's a bit taller. That extra size is nice but may also be a potential issue in putting it in your work bag, backpack. Where it really stands out is the brightness at 350 nits, and above average contrast ration @ 1200:1. The resolution is "WQXGA" which is 2560x1600. Think of this as more than HD 1080 and better than 2K but not 4K. Regardless, it's great resolution which became very apparent in working with numbers in Excel. There is no integrated stand which is a bit annoying as the only stand you can use short of a 3rd party is the magnetically attached screen protector. I have to admit it was a bit confusing figuring out how to attach the cover and to what side but when you have the stronger magnetic connection, it's pretty obvious. There is only one cable provided and all you need; one USB-C cable. Therefore, make sure your laptop has a USB-C output. Other units may need a video and power cable so it's nice to only need to carry one. Also, the USB-C input is on both sides of the monitor which is fantastic for cord management and setting up. You can adjust brightness by an external toggle switch which is very convenient compared to having to navigate a menu with a tiny button on the back like others. Highly recommend especially if you are doing any graphic work along with typical "work" - it was worth the extra $150.

Easy to Connect, Scaling will look off for MacBook users
I like the size of the display. It's roughly as thick as an iPhone, and it fits in my bag's laptop compartment along with my MBP and iPad easily. Only needing a usb-c cable to connect and no dedicated power is a plus compared to other monitors I looked at. I have been using sidecar on the 2020 iPad Pro 12.9" and got tired of troubleshooting issues with it and wanted a dedicated solution. If you're using it with a MacBook, text is going to look off and you'll have to play around with some settings to fit your preference, and it shouldn't be an issue for windows laptops. I've attached a max brightness comparison of the display with the 2020 12.9" iPad Pro and 2021 MacBook Pro 16" I think it will be bright enough for anyone that was satisfied with using Sidecar. If your priority is gaming, there are higher refresh rate monitors available that I think would be better suited, especially if you are playing esports titles. Overall I'm quite satisfied with the product, and would recommend it for anyone needing a second screen for working on the go.

Buy the protection plan...
For the first two months, I liked this monitor. Very light weight, no wasted space, fit well in my laptop bag and and even came with a nice little stand. I used this maybe 5-6 times. 4 at home, 2 at restaurants and loved it. Resolution was passable, easy connection, and small form factor. I was able to keep this screen, screen protector, and even the little cardboard slip it came in (for a bit extra protection) in my laptop bag without adding noticeable weight or bulk to my setup. Then yesterday I tried setting it up in my bedroom to watch TV while I worked and it would not connect. The power was getting to the screen as I saw the LG logo, then black. I tried both ports multiple times, then both ports on my laptop ($9k dell workstation), then tried 3 other cords testing all ports, then reset my computer and did the same testing again. Each time same thing. Monitor would power on, but not be detectable by the system. I talked to amazon and thankfully I have the protection plan for $30 because they are sending me out a replacement. I will keep an eye on this new screen and if it turns out I just got a lemon, I will come back and change this review rating. If the same thing happens, I will update it with the bad news. Either way, for $350, I expect longer life than two months and only 6 uses. UPDATE: Same thing happened with the replacement. Worked great for 1-2 uses, then set it in a drawer for a couple of months when I didn't need it and when I tried to use it again I experienced the same issue with the first screen. This is worse than trash, since they wouldn't refund my $350 I spent on it. TL:DR - Two separate screens, both worked a handfull of times before connectivity died, bricking themselves. DO NOT BUY LG.
