An incredible game for Rear Window fans
If you're a fan of Rear Window then you're going to love this game! It's rich with details, beautiful artwork, and thoughtful nods to the movie that any Hitchcock fan will appreciate. It took us a while to figure out the rules, but there's a handy instructional video to help. It's well worth the effort because the game itself is exciting and fast-paced with endless outcomes. It took us over an hour for the first game, but we had so much fun that we immediately started up a second game, which only took about 20 minutes. Because each tile changes, you can play this game dozens of times without it getting dull or predictable. My only complaint is that the game designers recast many of the iconic characters, including the clever and quick-witted Stella, played by Thelma Ritter. It doesn't make sense to keep some of the original cast but change the others. Does it affect the game? No. Does it make it any less enjoyable? Not at all. But I was particularly bummed to see Ms. Ritter cut. I love her movies and she deserved to be commemorated in this game, as she's an important part of Rear Window. All that said, this is a fantastic game and I hope to see other Hitchcock-themed board games. (Psycho, please.)As far as players, 3-5 are recommended (you need one to be the Director and two or more to be the Watchers, but we found it can be played with only 2 players. The recommended age is 13+ but we have an observant 7 year old who was able to pick it up pretty easily with some help from a parent.

Great game even at 2 players.
We love this game. It's not hard to learn, yet works out your brain just enough. The artwork is great and on theme. The quality is nice considering the price. It does take up a decent amount of table space, so I would say you need at least a small dining room table to play on. There is no reason 2 people can't play this, however this means essentially it is a silent game (not always a bad thing) since the director and watchers can't talk to each other. Sometimes we'll have the "watcher" think out loud just for entertainment purposes. It's interesting to see how other people are going through their deductive process. Great game and don't think you can go wrong at its price point.

Great themed mystery game. Hitchcock meets Mysterium.
First off, order and delivery were great. Price was excellent (on sale for ~$19), but even at full price the quality of the product would be worth it. The theming of the game to the movie was spot on. Any fans of the Hitchcock film should enjoy trying to solve the mystery. Did a murder occur or are you just a very bored, peeping Tom reporter whose imagination is running away on you? The game has a lot of variation and is definitely has replay value. Great social game for a small group. If you have evert played the game Mysterium, this game is very similar in the way the Director player gives clues to the Watcher players to try an solve the mystery, but the twist of having a possible murder in the mix is what makes this one different. It's all team work until someone gets to close to the villainous truth! The the Director gets to try and mislead the Watchers attempt to uncover the murderous plot. Great fun, even you have never seem the movie...but if you haven't, I recommend that you do. It enhances the game and it is a classic Hitchcock masterpiece. Enjoy!

Murder rate is about 30%
I just got this game for $17 and I think it was a good deal. It’s currently on sale for $15 which is a better deal. I personally would skip the goofy bundle though.I’ve only played with adults and all of us have seen Alfred Hitchcock’s Rear Window. The movie isn’t necessary for playing but the artwork are based on the movie. No movie stills, all original artwork.Prospero Hall is currently my favorite game designer team. I was surprised by their other games, Jaws and Pan Am. And Legacy of Isla Nublar was worth it to me. The rulebooks (yes the rulebooks) are well done and are thematic. This rulebook is modeled to look like a vintage Life magazine. It isn’t as thematic as the other games but is easy to follow and read. This rulebook will even explain to you how to prepare the game - how to organize the token tray that comes in the box - because it will make your life easier. Instructions for the Watcheds and the Director are straightforward and clearly delineated. Don’t gloss over the FAQ because it defines gourmand and virtuoso for this game.Game is simple but is played differently by the Watchers and the Director. After the solution is prepared, the Director puts out clues (cards with people, items, or shadows/items) which represent the rooms of the apartment residents for the 4 different apartments. Then the Watchers make guesses on who they think live in the apartment AND what “attribute” they have, ie is the resident the animal lover or the virtuoso? This continues for 4 rounds. The game is won by all players if all 4 apartments are guessed correctly.Unless, a murder has happened in which case the Watchers win if they figured out the murder and the Director loses. Or the Director gets away with murder (but the Watchers still need to guess some of the apartments correctly). This game reminds me of another board game called Mysterium where the Director is instead a ghost of a person who has been murdered and is trying to communicate with the living to reveal the murder. Ie, the gates are pointy so maybe the weapon is pointy? Rear Window is less grim and morbid unless a murder happens, and the murder rate for this apartment complex is about 30%. My husband and I both like this game more - the clues are less wishy-washy and are more concrete.I think kids could have fun playing this game if they like Clue. They might even be better at noticing clues because the pictures have small details.I would recommend checking out this game if you are interested in a cooperative game of deduction with a dash of murder and a hint of betrayal.
