Sir Simon: Super Scarer

If you’re one of those parents who secretly clench their teeth in annoyance when your kids interrupt your Netflix & Chill time to ask you to read them a bedtime story, then you’ll love this book. It’s great for the kids but also amazing for adults. I laughed numerous times while navigating the perfectly paired story with the illustrations and layout of the book. It almost made me forget how badly I wanted to go back to my bottle of alcohol...almost. THAT’S how good it was (the book, not the booze).

This is a fantastic book. My boys loved it. Between the silly and fun tone, the pop culture references and the the great writing, it is a fun reading with new things to spot each read. I love being able to support a local Canadian writer/illustrator. We have borrowed all his other books from the library and might have to invest in buying some of them as well. Great characters, a sweet moral, and lots of fun to read. My boys are 4 and 5 but I k ow older kids who loved it too.

Really fun book to read with kids. Wonderful images with lots of detail and easter eggs and humor for both kids and adults.

プロの怖がらせ屋（名刺も持ってる！）のオバケが、初めて人間が住む家にとりついて繰り広げるコメディです。いきなりですが、アメリカ映画のボスベイビーとか、見た目はアレなのに裏ではエージェントとかでミッションを抱えてエラソーに主人公の男の子とかに説教かましまくるギャグキャラを思い出してしまいました。あのマシンガンのような喋り方で、この本のオバケのセリフを読むと本当にぴったり！（笑）　全然怖がらない男の子をオバケに仕立て上げて、自分のかわりにオバケの雑用をやらせようとたくらむサイモン。でも、転々と引越しを繰り返す男の子に、とりつく相手を転々とかえなければならなかった自分の姿を重ね合わせて・・・。しんみりさせる展開かと思いきや、最後まで笑わせてくれる友情コメディです。
