DO NOT BE FOOLED! MICROPHONE GRILL IS A STICKER! TOTAL RIP-OFF P.O.S.!
This "microphone" is a straight-up screw-job. There is no microphone "grill." It is a vinyl sticker meant to be stuck on the lid of the container, which is a cheap aluminum capped container with two foam balls inside it. The entire kit is the container it is shipped in (meant to be the housing); two foam balls; 3 screws, and a tiny mic pick up. A COMPLETE piece of sh!t and a total and complete rip off. Sending mine back immediately for a refund. It reminds me of one of those old Adams brand gags - it's a bad joke, not a microphone.

Save your money!
Very misleading photograph. Tin can has no metal wire mesh screen, just a stick on decal. not what I expected at all.

Easy and fun kit
It's a great little kit - both for getting that vintage sound, but I also found it is a great tool with teens to teach about some very basic sound and electronics. After making the mic, we tried the same process with the Piezo mic with a number of situations.I think the only thing missing really, is the Campbell's Tomato Soup can... ;)

Fun assembly project!
Fun build. Easy as can be. Anyone coordinated enough to use a drill can make this happen. Understand it’s not fancy. So no frills. But it’s super easy to build and makes a fun sound. Something fun for a tinkerer and/or noise maker. Have fun!
