Cheeky Brat, Vol. 3

I bought books one and two from another source but pre-ordered 3 immediatly after reading them through amazon. The series it's self has some ups and downs but the characters are both sympathetic though they have their own flaws. It's quickly become one of my most anticipated series, and I can't wait to see how the characters continue to develop. the main character Machida struggles with her feelings towards her underclassman Naruse, while he continues to come onto her strong and grow increasingly jealous. It does not help that the man he's jealous of is his rival in more than just one field.It is very heart warming to see her break out of her emotionless armor though. For a character that's gone through so much since she was little I can't help but root for her happiness, even if it's not with the person she originally imagined it with. Naruse's jealousy is one thing but since the earlier entries I think this relationship is good for her on a certain level. She's no longer moping and thinking as much about her previous crush even though he comes back from time to time. Instead she's wrapped up in Naruse's distracting shinanigans and dealing with the fact that she actually does like him even if he's annoying. Being so wrapped up in things that "could have been" but never were is so self destructive so it's great to see how the author is handling that element with the sudden intrusion and curiosity of Naruse. He's a brat sometimes, but it's good that he's there for her.
