Atrend SPL-12SV Atrend Series 12-Inch Single SPL Vented Enclosure

Well built box. Coating gives the enclosure a nice look and the engraving adds class to it. The construction is superb although I cannot understand why Atrend do not have their enclosures pre-wired. For the price the wiring should be done and with quality gauge wiring but that is not the case. Criticisms aside, this is a well built, superb sounding enclosure. It adds a nice touch, is easy on the eyes, and is great for higher end subs like the Rockford P3, T1, T2; Alpine SWX, SWR; JL W3, W6, W7, etc. The extra 2.5 plus cubic ft of volume really adds to the boom.However, if you can forgo the coating, I feel the Atrend 12LSV is a better buy at $45.00 cheaper and is virtually the same box without the coating of class look. It the coating and engravings move you, along with a quality enclosure to boot, get this box, you will be satisfied.

The box does match up to its description, a SPL box with a lot of cubes to work with. However the MDF is of such low quality the box flexes enough to cause hollow distortion at around 800 watts RMS. I noticed the wood quality while drilling in to secure bracing - it was almost mush in some spots. Really, I mean it makes sound, but just not the type of sound you would have out of a mojo in a proper box. Also note the milled out brand name - the thickness of the MDF at the bottom of these letters is around 1/4 inch.This said it is fairly loud, but not by enough of a margin for me to come off my vastly undersized Memphis reference box.

Before I was using my new RF t1 12 in a single 12" normal box [...]...... But this box blows that one out of the water, there is such a huge difference.
