Orvis Flip Focal

The Orvis flip focal magnifier lens(2.5X) allow one to easily tie small flies on small tippets without removing your regular glasses or clip on sunglasses. This minimizes the possibility of dropping your usual lens into a rapid, deep stream. Those folk with "old" eyes understand that this is the perfect solution to a difficult problem. A hinge allows good magnification when needed; the lens are placed largely out of sight when folded. The magnifier can be easily secured to your cap with both a clip and pin with snap lock. Both are the unique selling propositions of this devise. I have used my prior set for about ten years and depend on it ; too bad my cap and magnifier went swimming in a wading accident. Unfortunately, my product arrived without the pin with snap lock. However, the folk at Orvis sent me a replacement by next day mail. Quality product and quality service.

These work great for me. I have those magnetic clip cheaters, but they can be a pain to put on with one hand. These are super convenient since they flip down. You just have to adjust your hands to hit the sweet spot for focus. I couldn’t thread a fly without them.

I like this flip focal very much. For old eyes, it is a great help. This is not a complaint, but I wish there was a way to lower the lens into position without actually touching it. With slimy hands after just releasing a fish, you wind up having to clean the lens from time to time; never easy to do when standing in the water with a rod and wading staff to manage.

This product is made by Flip-Focal (NJ). Attaches to hard or soft brim hats (lock pin included to ensure secure attachment on a soft brim). Easily flips up or underneath the brim of the hat out if the way when not in use. There is some tension when flipping the lenses up and down while attached to the brim of the hat which is good because they stay in place once positioned. The magnification is ample and clear. I have yet to use this product while fishing on the water, but confident it will work very well. Wished it came with a small soft-sided holder or sleeve to protect it while in a pocket of my tackle box, but found one laying around the house that came with an old pair of glasses that will work well enough.

Makes tying those fly fishing knots easier and faster by magnifying the line. I don’t have to put my reading cheaters on now.

Cheap. Don’t like the plastic clip on. Could break easily. Need a small case for it so the lens won’t scratch.

Quality construction and great magnification. No more putting magnifiers over my sunglasses. Flips out of the way when not in use and does not obstruct vision. Now i'm not struggling to tie knots on line to line connections or tippet to fly connections.

This is a great product! Being able to see my (basically invisible) tippet and thread it though the eye of my fly is amazing. Never would have thought I would use these and worried I might not “look cool”... no factor since I can see what I’m doing. 😎

Excellent magnification and just what is needed when outside wearing a hat..no need to get spectacles out of pocket

So pleased with this focal magnifier. It flip's under a caps brim totally out of the way when not in use and you just flip it down to use it. Magnification is perfect for checking flies. I'm very happy not to have to search for my glasses whilst fishing now! Highly recommended.

Easily fitted to the peak of my cap with excellent magnification. It does take some practice as the slightest movement of your head will loose the article you are viewing . Practice makes perfect.

These are great for fishermen when your arm get to short to see😜. Fit securely to the peek of my hat very handy they’re there when you need them great product

Great product. Perfect for changing flies, untangling knots, tying knots and all that stuff that’s hard to do when your eyes perhaps aren’t what they once were!
