I was pleased with how quickly I was able to procure the cane. I do have occasional issues with some of the strands splitting but mostly with the knots on the cane becoming a weakness of the strand so I land up having to cut the strands shorter and using more which results in more starts and stops on the back. I have not finished tying off the back yet with so many strands sticking out. Perhaps, will update then.

I ordered this cane to repair a chair with a hole in its seat. The cane when it arrived was difficult to disentangle, with long strands unavailable on the inside of the tangle, and easy-to-reach short strands on the outside (the opposite of what should be), forcing me to tie off much more often than usual. Many strands arrived bent, broken or frayed; others were joined incorrectly, with the grain running first in one direction, then in the other. This causes snags and splits while weaving. The directions that come with the cane are unclear and difficult to follow, even for someone who has caned chairs before. Blobby ink makes them difficult to even read. I recommend disregarding them entirely, and watching a video.

Positive: There were many long strands. Delivery was immediate.Negative: The strands very often broke and also split lengthwise. As a result there was substantial loss and many instances when I had to undo strands that broke or split while weaving them. This increased the project time.Numerous retailers sell the same brand, and my experience with it has been less than satisfactory. I would be pleased to pay more if I was assured to receive higher quality material. I'm presently working on the third chair in the last few months and the sixth overall.
