UPDATE: Seller reached out to me and apologized profusely for the damaged product. Apparently Amazon is responsible for their shipping logistics and they're still working out the kinks. Seller promptly offered to replace the item, and unfortunately Amazon messed up again and lost the package!? Despite that the seller has been on top of Amazon non-stop and in constant communication with me, which makes this a five star product as far as I'm concerned.I chose this zen garden because it was about $20 less than a similarly designed competitor option--and it shows! The item was shipped in the product packaging without another exterior box and arrived badly damaged with items and sand falling out of it everywhere. This is not acceptable to send as a gift, let alone receive as something for yourself! The sand being everywhere was a total headache, the tools are flimsy, poorly assembled, and not symmetrical. The balls, I don't even know where to start; they look nothing like other zen garden balls available for purchase and are just random bumps without any discernible pattern and not even spherical. None of the tools were functional at all, the tray for the sand was cheaply made and also very poorly assembled. Steer clear of this item unless you want a sandy mess! Sending back today!

The media could not be loaded. I love the garden set. It is really nice to have so many tools to create various designs and flow in the sands. The wooden bamboo tray is a simple circle. The bottle of fine sand is just barely enough for this 12 inch tray. I may add a little more fine sand to it later. The wooden cup is just the right size to hold all the tools. I really like the patterned wooden balls. They are cool to create a pattern in the sand and to leave in as decoration for the Zen garden.I felt very calm, peaceful and in the moment while playing in the sand. If you have a hard time meditating, try this out. It helps you focus on something beautiful while your mind feels silent. It doesn't include any other decorations, but it leaves it open to adding your own items to make it a unique garden.Packaging - it does need some cushioning and securing the wooden tray to ensure it arrives safely. Mine is all good. I would like to see the tools in a pretty packaging, even in a nice oriental paper napkin design instead of the plastic covering. Mainly, because it would make it a bit more special and more giftable.Overall, I am very happy with the set and quality. I highly recommend it as a gift and to encourage a peaceful way of meditating or grounding yourself in the moment. I have mine in my art room/office space so I can enjoy and use it daily.I have some concern about my kitten; she is getting older, so hopefully she won't knock it off the shelf. I wouldn't recommend it for anyone with cats that get into stuff.

Update- Replacement also broken. It’s poor quality and not protected in shipping. It was broken upon delivery.
