Beautiful - but not crystal
Large, Deep, Danish Crystal Covered Butter Dish, Set Butter keeper, Well Sealed to Keep Butter Soft, Beautiful Decorative Design and Antique Look — I adore this butter dish! It's practical and pretty. The dish is oversize but still fits nicely in the butter-keeper section of my fridge door. The dish is both longer and wider than a standard stick of butter, so there's no butter rubbing against the cover, and there's even a bit of extra room for that little stub of butter from the previous stick. Besides its attractiveness, I really appreciate the cut-crystal texture of the cover. It gives me something to grip when I lift the cover, much better than the smooth glass one that this replaces. I'm thrilled with this purchase.--------------------Update: March 28, 2020I wrote the earlier review for this butter dish that I bought as a gift for a relative. When I needed a new butter dish, I ordered the same one for myself. All the praise still holds true. I removed 3 stars from my review, however, because this is NOT crystal. It's heavy glass, and it is lovely, but it is being sold as something that it is not. The box that it comes in calls it a butter dish, without specifying what it's made of. The seller's label that's been affixed to the box calls it crystal, which is deceptive at best. Buyer beware: if you want crystal, keep looking. If you want a nice heavy glass butter dish, this should do well. I'm not going to return it, because I do like the design. I am, however, annoyed at the deceptive listing and disappointed that this isn't crystal.

Great value, lovely butter dish
This butter dish is nice to look at, and here's something I was not expecting: it is easy to hold. I had not realized how important this was until it came and we loaded it up. Our previous dish scootched out of my husband's hand and broke, and we all realized that it was hard to hold due to its shape and sharp edges. This dish is just as pretty as our old crystal one, but much easier on the hands, for all of us, plus it is a great value.

It's okay ....
I tried to find the kind of butter dish I wanted that was made in the USA but had no luck. This one looks nice and it is recessed where the butter sits which helps keep the butter in place. But there is not a "seated" place for the lid and it is loose on the dish. There are sides on the dish so the lid won't slide off but there is a lot of slop between the sides of the dish and the lid, allowing the lid to move around a lot. It's kind of like the lid was made for another, smaller dish. Not a huge deal, just a poor design.

It looks nice. Decent price.
We like it. Pretty design. Nice weight. Won't fit your Kerry gold butter bar but it's a nice addition for smaller widths. We live in Hawaii and it's monsoon season with lots of humidity. The butter keeps melting when placed on the counter. It's too big to keep in the butter drawer. So can only use it during cooler months.

It is a very nice dish but...
Update: I recently replaced it with another after a drop. The new one seals better now, but the base now doesn’t sit flat on the table/counter.Original review: I am very pleased with the design of the dish. My dislike is it is sold as having a tight seal. Since the lid rattles on the dish, it cannot seal tight as described. Most annoying is when you walk by the dinner table and it makes a ting ting sound. Otherwise it is the nicest looking butter dish I was able to find on the internet that is lead free

Lovely containers, exactly what I wanted, but a tad tight for some European butter blocks
LOVE these containers. Good quality, pretty on the table. I buy Irish butter in the US, which comes in large (equivalent of 2 sticks of US butter, side by side) blocks. They advertised that European butter blocks would fit - and they do, but it's a VERY tight squeeze for my Irish butter blocks, and you do get some butter on the side of the lid as a result, but the lid does close over the top of the block of butter. So I'll just deal with it or carefully slice/shave off a micometer of butter on one side the next time I use them, and put it artfully on the top!! LOL

pretty but the top doesn't fit on solid
So this butter dish is pretty, and I liked that it looked like crystal but had no lead. When you set the cover on it rocked a little, so obviously it lets in air. The other thing I've noticed after using it is that because it is a little wider, it would be nice if it had a knob or something on top. Still was a better value than the stainless steel one I looked at that had a plastic cover for over $20.

Perfect size
This butter dish is the perfect size: not with the cover towering over the butter. Design in the Danish crystal is both attractive and easy to grip. The cover sits raise up off the flat of the butter plate which helps keep the cover clean should the butter get too soft.

Only Holds A Stick
It's allllllmost wide enough to hold a brick cut in half, but it's not. When I try, the lid rubs against the sides all the ways down. So really, you could have a butter dish designed for a stick that will take up less space on your countertop and be holding the same amount of butter, do the same number of changes, etc.It is a beautiful butter dish, however, and very functional overall. We have lost a chunk out of the lid, but that's probably our own fault.

It is very narrow
The item is not as described. It is too small. It is definitely neither large nor deep. I was disappointed.
