They Like it! They Like It!!
We have two grandsons, one who is 4 years old (GS4) and one who is 2 years old (GS2). GS2 visits twice a week on Mondays & Wednesdays, while GS4 visits on Fridays. Each visit is for 2 hours. Being boys, it can be difficult at times to keep them interested in anything. We are always looking for fun activities for them to play with. The busy board caught our attention and thought we would give it a try.Since GS4 already knows his alphabet, numbers, colors, and shapes, we thought the busy board would be more exciting to GS2. Wrong! GS4 really liked the set. I asked him what he liked about it, and he said he liked playing with the alphabet sets (two, plus a set of vowels). He could do more words on the whiteboard. More challenging for him are the life skills sections. There are a wide variety of buckles, belts, snaps, buttons, zippers, hooks and loops, and even a shoestring practice tie. Some, like zippers, he could already do. But others he may never have seen before.GS2 is more interested in the colors and shapes sections right now. He also had fun sticking the various pieces together and then taking them apart. It is easier for him to play if I unzip the two center sections and pull them out. There is much for him to grow into. Both boys liked the carrying handle. We liked the colorful pieces and overall selection of activities. It folds up nicely and is light and safe to take anywhere. Initially, we thought it was a four-star rating. But the boys so liked the set, we believe it is worthy of five stars. The pieces don’t always stick to the felt, especially those on the outside of the case. Zipping the two inside sections back into the case can be challenging for the grandparents!
