Starting to rust after just 2 weeks
I really liked this at first. It was really solid and fit nicely on my car. I had some issues with things not lining up quite right when installing, but nothing I couldn't muscle past.My biggest issue is with how quickly it has started to show signs of rust. I've only had it on my car for about 2 weeks, but it has already started to leave rusty streaks over my car. The outside seems to be just fine, but the bars that aren't sealed are starting to rust inside. I will have to figure out a way to seal up those bars to prevent further rust.To me it's not bad enough to have to return it, but still frustrating to have it rust within two weeks. For the price it's not bad, however if you want something that will last and be weather proof you may want to look elsewhere.

Smaller than listed cargo area.
Dimensions are outside bottom section. The interior dimensions at the top where you need clearance to get things into it are 37 x 37 inches. The rail brackets almost don't work on the Vault 54-inch rails, and are a goofy design in my opnion. The U-bolts are short and difficult to get started. The bracket knobs are up in the cargo area. Paint is thin. It won't fair well in harsh weather without being repainted. Might have to give it away. Wouldn't buy again.

Great idea, Great design, Poor Execution
Generally speaking its a good product however like all things it has its pros and cons.Pros- Its very strong for how light it is, it can hold a good amount of cargo for its size, it looks nice, and seems to be fairly well made.Cons- The slanted "aero" front does take away about 6 inches of usable space cross the front of the basket, the front to back tubes do not connect and they are left open which creates a very audible whistling noise while driving(not a big deal when you can have the radio turned up a bit but for overnight driving and sleeping kids when the radio is low it gets quite annoying), most importantly the finish paint that is on it is pretty terrible, all the welds and and tube openings have already started to rust and I only had it on for a week while traveling. thanks to a poor paint system I have rust marks/stains on the roof of my jeep and i am very unhappy about that. personally I would not buy this rack again and do not suggest it to anyone who cares about their vehicles paint.

The roof basket seems of good quality and assembly was straight forward
The roof basket seems of good quality and assembly was straight forward. Be aware the screws needed to install the side and back plate are included but it can be confusing as to which ones they are as some will come will bolts attached which are not needed for the plate install, but are needed for the deflector install.I installed this on a set of Vault base bares and was concerned as to how difficult it was to get the included brackets installed over the base bars. But, it is all together now and seems to be fine in terms of strength.I drove the vehicle (VW Atlas) around to check on wind noise, and there is some. Once loaded it is assumed the noise level will change.

Missing parts, bent pieces, overall rough condition.
The package was missing several essential parts, particularly the wing nuts that attach the rack to the car. The rack itself came in very bad condition with lots of exposed metal and bent bars. I had to struggle to get the two main pieces together because the tubes were bent so badly. Ultimately I had to just beat the most bent tube with a hammer and block until it was straight enough to force together. This means that disassembly and reassembly will not really be an option in the future, at least not easily. The screws and nuts that came in the box were scattered all over the place and not in the bag that they were supposed to be in. I am sure this is how some of them ended up lost. Additionally, the instructions described machined bolts as the pieces used to attached the side plates to the rack However, the items that were in the box were not machine bolts but some kind of wide-groove screw that would have been useful if the rack was made of wood instead of metal. I would return this item and ask for a refund if I could but I need it for a camping trip this weekend so I am stuck with what I got. After a trip to the hardware store to buy the missing pieces and black paint to repair all the exposed metal, it seems the rack will be functional. I would recommend looking elsewhere if you want a quality rack. If your main concern is price and you can stand the bare minimum (or just below) functionality, then this rack may work for you.

assembly required
Be aware that this is held together with screws and nuts on the sides, front and back. it's not a one-piece basket like more expensive one's. Use "lock-tight" on those screw's when assembling it. Some screws/nut were "challenging" to get together, but I had mine together in about 3 hours.Only 4 stars because the directions were - written in a heavy accent...and the pictures were to dark to see the features the directions were attempting to convey, and therefor useless.Otherwise it holds small light weight things as it is advertised. Finally, above 60 mph it whistles loud enough that you can hear it inside the car.

Best for the money, use Blue Loctite!
Works just as described, easy and quick assembly. Recommend using 'blue loctite' on everything, nearly all bolts came loose after a few rides down a washboard forest service road. Rack holds 200lbs, I sat on it and it was loaded with 3 coolers, honestly was probably really about 250lbs.Best bang for your buck!2008 Toyota Tacoma w/ KB VooDoo bed crossbars.

Buy a different roof basket. You might get my damaged product return!
Shipping was fast! (But that's because I PAY for amazon prime)The product itself is decent. But the screws dont even go to the bars on the basket, you have to apply a wicked amount if force for them to set in. And on top of that I received someone's return because it was halfway out together, and 2 screw holes were stripped and one of the bars were bent, the fairing is bent in the corner, lots of deep scratches from someone mounting it for a test fit. Also missing 2 screws. For a 100 bucks I would have preferred to buy a no name brand one on ebay. Ridiculous quality control...bummed because I was excited for a decent roof basket.
