Q: Curious why they don't show putting the metal bar through the bait so it doesn't get stolen? Would this not work with this station?

This bait station comes with a metal bar for the bait. It works well and is easy to use.

Q: it was in pieces.....how do I put it together ?

If you look closely at the product picture #4, you will see the bait cubes go under the bar in the tray.
