Duronic 3.5mm jack to 3.5mm jack - nice interconnect at a great price.
First off, this cable looks a lot better quality than the price would suggest, and miles better than the supermarket accessory-rack cable costing around a fiver. The cable appears well terminated and the plugs appear solid and comfortingly shiny, the gnarled surface providing a decent grip for stretching-round-the-back-of-the-amp-blindly installation. The outer sheathing is a good impersonation of a high quality woven polymer design, but don't take this fakery as a fault - it looks a lot more hard wearing and sturdy than a lot of more expensive cables. Without removing the plugs it is impossible to see what the inner insulation is like, or what kind of signal cable is in use here, but the listening experience is acceptable for such a cheap interconnect, with both average-quality ipod and higher-resolution stereo applications. I have tried this cable as interconnect between a few different appliances and it has a reassuringly snug fit in all sockets so far. There is enough transparency in sound quality to get fair results from an ipod throught a stereo amp, and also very good results can be had with lossless-format material from PC using the Duronic cable as amplifier interconnect (you may need to acquire a jack socket to 2-phono adaptor for this application), and also from portable CD player. It seems that the better the source, the better it performs, which is nice, but not typical at this price. You could spend more money on a better cable if you need to use a real lossless-format type of portable player, or a 'proper' hi-fidelity source, but this cable is probably as good as anything at the sub-tenner mark. Note: the cable's composition makes it quite stiff and springy, and liable to try and coil itelf back up, so if you need something softer or more flexible which will lie down quietly, you could look elsewhere.Update: Please note, to avoid misrepresentation - my review was for the non-sprung coiled 1m interconnect which came sleeved with a white woven stiff plastic finish, not a black rubbery coiled one which seems to be what is described in the product this review is now attached to.

works well
This item works well. I use it to link my mp3 to the car stereo. no issues at all. good quality product - stoutly made. Actually, as it is quite a well made cable, it is not very flexible as it is not thin. And, being white, it stands out a touch so I disconnect it when parking the car and put it away. Thieves tend to notice things that stand out and draw their attention. Therefore, the last thing you want is a thief noticing a bright white and fairly cheap cable and doing your car window in to nick the stereo just because. Psychology - if something looks rubbish, even if its worth a fortune, the thief (IQ of their shoe size you see) will walk by. My wife's bicycle is hand painted and no one pays a blind bit of notice to it. I am thinking of getting the old matt paint out and 4inch brush onto my Aston Martin. I feel a bit guilty when i pass my wife on her bike in my car so it could be seen as being in solidarity with her. Not sure what colour to use though? perhaps white then the cable won't stand out so much - win win situation.

total rubbish
Based on the 100 5* reviews against only 17 1* reviews, and the general feedback theory that if you have a problem, you are much more likely to say something than if all's well, I decided to order a couple of these, 1 to replace the 2 metre Belkin I currently use in my car. What a mistake! I tried one lead in 2 cars with different iPods, and the sound was abysmal. Even on full volume (car and iPod), I could not hear the vocals, and the music was distorted. Using the same iPods in both cars with my Belkin lead, everything was perfect. These leads are obviously cheap for a reason. They do not work. I should have paid attention to the negative comments.Do yourself a favour and order something different. I will be returning them.

Good everyday connection lead
I received this product in perfect condition and it has been in use ever since. The lead is sturdy and its outer casing means that it will be durable, hopefully lasting me a long time. The sound quality is generally good, however, the cable sometimes causes a crackling interference, this has occured less often since initial use, and so is not an issue. Overall, this is a brilliant product, and at a reasonable price it is a good buy for music enthusiasts and people just looking for everyday use alike.
