These are serous magnets they are quite powerful for their size. They come well packaged and nicely finished, should make your project or use nice and finished looking. Some people have said they are brittle and they are correct, but so is every other rare earth magnet made. The fact is the stronger one is the more brittle it is, it's just the way it works. Rare earth magnets aren't metal they are a form of ceramic, they contain iron, nickle then the other elements that give them their name. Then they are fired in a kiln like any other ceramic The metal finish is applied only to the outside to stop rusting it's just protective . Never try to drill or solder one or heat to high temperature all of those are destructive. Remember like your ceramic plates or cups they are easy to break by sharp impacts. I'm looking forward to my project using these as a very important part of it.

These are some strong magnets. Let one get near the fridge and it could probably pick it up. Seriously, I gave one to a friend who, thoughtlessly, dropped it in her handbag. It demagnetized her phone, almost refused to give up a key chain, clung to a compact as well as reaching out and touching the contents of the purse of a woman seated next to her....There are some great purposes to which these can be applied but...after the first amusing moments with them, they are serious in their power. If I had a child, and no matter how they squalled to take them to school for "show and tell" time, No. Buy them and find your own uses-you will just remember to keep them from battery powered things and, for that, anything that has low voltage electricity running through it.

I really wanted to like these however the inconsistency in dimension is far and wide between all six of the magnets.Thickness varies as much as 0.5mm, width varies in as much as 1mm. For something that one desires consistency with regards to magnet strength and dimension, this item fails. Had to modify my model to accommodate the variances between the magnets.

As other reviews mention, they do break if you aren't careful. That is likely mostly due to the shape of the magnet - long and thin. If you're careful with them and they don't need to move around a lot, they work very well.I wouldn't order this shape again; the circular form seems more stable.

Pretty strong for their size, definitely keep you entertained if your getting these to play with. Works well for hanging up tools and jars of screws or hardware. Play with them for a while and you'll figure out other things to do with them. Be careful not to let them slap together, because of how thin they are, they will split apart. Bought this to play with the magnetic putty and it works great.
