Nothing But the Blues

This is possibly the best blues album that I have ever heard. EC is in top form here. I would rank this with B.B. King Live At the Regal, Muddy Water's Hard Again, Buddy Guy's Living Proof, Otis Rush So Many Roads, Stevie Ray Vaughn's The Sky Is Crying, Michael Bloomfield's If You Like These Blues, etc. It doesn't get much better than this. It's authentic, straight ahead Chicago-style electric blues. If someone tells you that they don't like this, then what they really mean is that they don't like the blues, or maybe they just don't understand it. There's an old saying that "When the student is ready, the teacher appears". If you are ready to be a student of the blues, you couldn't ask for a better teacher than Eric Clapton. Listen.

I have a large collection of Clapton and most likely have some of the songs on this CD. Having the all these great tunes on one CD is great. This will make a nice addition to my collection.

Clapton never disappoints! It's a good thing the digital copy in my laptop can't wear out. If it were vinyl I would have worn the grooves flat by now. This is a great album. A lot of good Delta Blues. Buy it!

I like this. It’s rare I say that of Mr. Clapton’s efforts at keeping food on his table.He broke my heart with that silly thing, "Lay Down Sally" and I was already perturbed regarding his lack of credit given to Mr. Duane Allman on "Layla And Other …".Mr. Clapton’s great talent lies in his ability to choose fantastic foils - think Mr. Doyle Bramhall II or the incredible Genius of Mr. Derek Trucks.This album works cause Mr. Clapton is singularly playing Blues standards as he does on his tribute album to Mr. Robert Johnson.I like it. I will purchase it and gift it. I play it and I suggest it.I give it an 88, Dick. It’s got a cool beat and You can dance to it.

the only thing I didn't like about is not enough music.

I caught this tour in New Orleans. It was a top 5 show in 50 years of concerts. I wish this was a 2-disc set with a whole show. Eric played 27(!) songs in New Orleans; an acoustic set, then all electric. The band was great and Eric was on fire from start to finish. Some of the low ratings here are simply ignorant. No credits of the band? Look at the 8 page booklet in the left-hand pocket dummy! "Age has caught up with him"? This was 28 years ago!! He burned the house down!! Did you listen to this CD? His playing is outstanding. Just laugh at these 1-star no-nothings and listen yourself. Stay away if you don't love great electric blues.

Arrived safely and quickly and very pleased with this selection of music.

Not sure why the complaints on sound quality. It’s the blues ! I’m not an audiophile. I have klipsch speakers and subwoofer upstairs, infinity floor speakers and subwoofer downstairs and sennheiser headphones when I don’t want distractions. It sounds great to me. Raw and original. I’ve been lucky enough to see him in the US twice in recent years. Phoenix in 2019 and Nashville last year. He’s one of the best and this is one of my favorite Clapton sub-genres. The all out blues. If you’re a real Clapton fan then you will have no issues with this release and be grateful.
