Q: I bought another brand and it was just the white powered lifting chalk in a bag. Is this like that or something different? The powered chalk is messy

Rock rosin is just that: Rock. It's a burlap mini bag that has small yellow rocks of rosin. As you grab and shake the bag, small amounts of dust from the yellow rocks seep through the bag. It is not the same as weigh lifters or bowler's rosin. That is almost the consistency of baby powder and is also not very sticky. Rock rosin is a stickier rosin and is very useful in warm weather. All rosin is designed to dry sweat. But rock rosin not only dries but is natural slightly sticky in a way that's hard to describe. I use rock rosin in the summer when I play golf. There is nothing I've ever tried that both dries the sweat and also helps with my grips.

no it doesn't but we will recommend to put it in a zip lock bag to make sure

Q: what is this used for?

Rosin is basically a powdered form of pine tar and is used to enhance grip in any sport. It is available in the rock form, where it breaks off into powder as you use it, or in powder form. The rock rosin lasts a bit longer, but we are not sure if anyone has ever completely used a rosin bag to its' end! :) Hope this helps!
