I've had this vacuum for a couple years now. Admittedly I have used all of it's features. It's fantastic for water changes and top offs. I use sand substrate. It looks awesome. Sadly, even this device easily clogs. A straight vacuum tube with no collection chamber. Never set right with me. Yet I can't seem to find a decent substrate cleaner. It's like they don't exist with a collection chamber. I suggest getting aquatic pets that feed on fish waste and live plants.

It is far superior to the other electric gravel cleaners on the market. Other vacuums use a bag with tiny holes that affect the suction, those holes get clogged very fast to where water can no longer escape and the bag must be rinsed to continue — it may take 3-5 rinses to vacuum a 30 gallon aquarium. This gravel vacuum uses multiple layers of sponges so you can use it many times over without losing suction. It was easy to put together and offers quite a few different vacuum heads for different circumstances. The seller is very friendly and will help you troubleshoot any issues you have. I have a few criticisms, but the vacuum still deserves 5 stars relative to other vacuums out there: - there may be a little too much suction to where I’m scared of sucking up a fish - the on/off switch on the wire is a bit too far from the vacuum handle, making it difficult to cut off quickly if there’s an emergency - after turning off and removing from water, there is still water left in the machine that comes from the top and bottom that could leave a small mess - the arm can be difficult to extend/shorten when going between tanks with different depths

I've tried this a couple times now, I tried to clean sand, gravel, glass algae and build up in hard scape. Truth is that it's to bulky for a 100 gallon aquascape tank, it's unusable for me. It did ok cleaning the white sand with the clear sifter, but the scraper is worthless maybe it will get brown dust algae off but nothing green I put enough pressure to nearly break the handle and still no removal. The brush is to soft to remove dirt from rocks which is the only thing I could think to use it for. I like the fact that it advertised to clean the water while cleaning, removing algae particles and dirt so it doesn't dirty up the tank, which it did ok, really needs a pipe extension to help with the bulky pump from brushing up against my drift wood bumping in loose. I wanted to love this but I'm better off manually cleaning and using magnet brushes for the glass. Has potential but they cheaped out on the attachments making it worse to use than the normal cleaning process. A suggestion is make a magnet brush that the hose can attach to so we can clean the glass while the pump filters the algae debris that would be amazing, I think suction cupping it to the glass while using the hose and sifter to clean the gravel is a much better idea, not moving the pump throughout the aquarium, oh also a scraper head for glass with a removable razor blade, a handle that holds the hose instead of the pump is a much better idea, glad you are in the right track but you made a headache instead of a product to make clean an aquarium easier. Please make these attachments and let me know, or send them to test please. I would love to take less time on maintenance.

I was so excited to use this product for the first time but unfortunately, and it was perfect I liked it so much but when I prepared everything to use it again the pump was not working for any reason.

Really good product with strong suction, however I’m quite disappointed as I never received the connectors to elongate the suction tube, so I can’t use it as I intended .I instead received two of these attachments!!!! Don’t buy it if you have a deep aquarium I guess
