I’ve been using that unit for about 3 years now and just added one additional for two more zones. All connected to the same WiFi hub and same app. The app is very flexible and provides full scheduling capabilities per zone. Days of the week, multiple times, length of watering , mist or irrigation etc. manual mode also available. You can activate or disable at anytime from anywhere in the world 🌎. I have only identified one negative and that is the way it works with the moisture sensors. The sensors must be in a relative close proximity to the unit or WiFi hub, otherwise they aren’t being detected. That is totally useless as when you use multiple zones, they are usually far away from each other, hence, the related sensors must be way apart also. It is a very nice feature, also potentially can save a lot of money and wasting water unnecessary, but it just doesn’t work. Otherwise again, I’m very happy with the system reliability, functionality and flexibility. If you don’t care about the sensors, I highly recommend.

I had a few issues during the initial setup, and their team was prompt and helpful, providing clear answers and solutions.I highly recommend it to anyone looking to streamline their garden care routine.

I've been working with the RainPoint 2 zone controllers since October of 2023. I started with one unit and then added 3 more in the spring of 2024 to max out my hub with 4 controllers (giving me 8 zones). Everything worked really well for a few weeks but eventually 2 of the units decided to stop working and would no longer connect to the hub. One was blinking white and red repeatedly over and over.RainPoint customer service was very responsive but the replacement units were very slow to ship when I needed them most. The process took a a week or two where my expectations were that they could simply place another Amazon fulfillment order which should have only been 1-3 days. They also didn't request for me to return the defective unit so I question whether they even care about the root cause of the defect.I learned that the controllers are not connected by WiFi but by low frequency proprietary radio signals. This helps save battery life and increases the signal distance but you cannot extend the range by adding more WiFi access points and can only do so by adding another RainPoint hub. I have not tried adding a 2nd hub yet.The software is a great start but has some shortcomings compared to the big brand irrigation controllers. Most significant is the rain sensing abilities. They ask you to put in your location but their location database does not accurately list the location I pinpointed. It was saying I lived in some place called Long Beach but there is no such location near me.They also have a different series called Smart+ which does have a high precision rain sensor but it is NOT compatible with the yellow zone controllers I purchased. Why not? Apparently there's even a different app for the Smart+ devices. Seems like a missed opportunity for them to be incompatible.The soil moisture sensors (green) are not always accurate and are too expensive to buy one for each of your zones. You should be able to share the soil sensing data across all your zones but it only allows you to pair with a single zone. And to change zones you have to get a screwdriver out and find a hidden button to re-pair it. Not intuitive or user friendly.The software also limits you to watering 3 times per day per zone. This should be at least 5-8 for those of us who would prefer to water in shorter intervals more frequently which is helpful for certain gardens / plant types, especially with drip irrigation / mysting.Otherwise everything worked pretty well and I am overall happy with these and still using them.In summary:- Please try to improve shipping time of replacement units when applicable- Please work on more frequent software updates and have a website dedicated to project management of customer requests, whether the request is valid and accepted by the product design team, prioritization, and estimated completion dates- Please make your Smart and Smart+ product lines compatible with each other or make a precision rain sensor for the Smart line as well.- Please fix the location database to accurately represent the location that someone selects.

This device is very easy to setup and app is so user friendly with lot of controls to manage and monitor the irrigation as per the needs. With its seamless WiFi capability and brass inlet, it offers durability and smart control ability for your watering needs. This device so useful especially when we are away, the app will give lot of options to take care of irrigation needs remotely and the notifications will keep you up to date with the status. Manual mode is also helpful. Overall so far so good! Excellent choice for any Gardener!

I love this product. It works as advertized and as expected. It saves me time and water. Customer support was very promt when I broke a valve on the product. Great warranty and service. High 5 to the Rainpoint team and Kristy for the help. 5 stars well deserved

Easy to setup and use. Good solid build quality. Works very well. Would like to have had a option for cycle and soak. I have to program it individually for that.

It looks like a good product, but it’s actually very complicated to connect the indoor piece with the outdoor piece with your phone and the Wi-Fi. I tried calling Support, but they are limited. This is really frustrating.
