Easy set up - plug and play
It arrived earlier than expected by Royal Mail to my remote location. Plugged it in and it connected to my hearing aids automatically. The sound now bypasses the TV speakers and comes direct to the hearing aids. I can now follow all the dialog of films, without the sound being muffled by poor quality TV speakers, brilliant.

Terrible user experience
This device is small, unobtrusive easy to set up and does the job it’s intended to do.However, it’s uncontrollable and grabs the bluetooth connection on my Phonak hearing aids whenever I enter the room where it’s connected, even if my hearing aids are connected to a different bluetooth device at the time eg streaming Spotify on my phone or worse, I’m in a call on my mobile and streaming to my bearing aids. Even if I’m not using the bluetooth connection on my phone and I enter the room the TV audio is automatically connected. I don’t seem able to control the default volume of the connection to this device because the MyPhonak app has many bugs - the default volume is loud. It’s a real problem because the MyPhonak app takes a very long time to connect to the Phonak hearing aids resulting in a loud TV audio blaring in my ears until the app connects and I’m able to control the volume or I temporarily remove the hearing aids; the latter is much faster. As per the opening paragraph, the device works but there are definite problems with the user experience. For me, the problems outweigh the benefits and I've unplugged my device for now.If anyone reading this figures out a way to prevent the device grabbing the bluetooth connection when I enter (or approach) the room with the device I’d appreciate the information.

Superb clarity, better than tv speakers
-I have 3 and buying a fourth, you can control them with the Phonak app on your phone and decide if you want more tv or conversation. And you can turn them off if you don’t want it automatically connecting up to your hearing aids walking around the house. I wouldn’t be without them.

This is the only way I can reply to previous review
This was issued with a bundle deal when I purchased my hearing aids. I add these photos. I use it on plugged in when necessary to my phone, my PC, my android tablet, my laptop and my TV. So it's pretty much in use all the time and not always plugged into my TV I agree that working out how to get the best from it is sometimes frustrating but here are a few things I've learned from using it. For the computer connections I haven't really had any problems. The TV presented a few hiccups. I have discovered that if you switch it off (hold on/off button gently for a few seconds, don't tap it) then it doesn't try to pick up my hearing aids. I am mostly pleased with the performance of the device and grateful that I can watch TV with the family by using it. I plug the leads in, one in a USB socket and the other in the headphones socket. I hope this is helpful and that it doesn't infringe Amazon criteria for reviews. After all, there is little or nothing to help deaf/hard of hearing folk in a market saturated with electronic listening devices! Good luck.
