We us this for seizure protection!
My tween daughter has epilepsy and also suffers from non epileptic seizures. It was suggested to us by her team that we look for a soft shell helmet. Everything we found definitely advertised that she was wearing a helmet. This was a perfect compromise and something she’s extremely comfortable and confident in wearing.We shared this with some friends of ours that were in a similar boat and they ended buying this for their child too!It’s obviously not as protective as a Dunbar helmet but gives her enough protection to let her be kid!

Casual helmet is better then no helmet.
I got this because of the ball cap style and the ability to strap it on, means I will wear it and not lose it. I am so excited to take this on river trips!

Lightweight, protects from sun & breaches waves. Plus you don't look like a kook with a helmet in the line-up.

It's ok not total protection
The color and material are great. The straps are fully adjustable so you can get the fit by the ears as you need them, as well as under the chin. The strap isn't comfy under the chin for me, though. There is an adjustment at the back of the cap for your head size, which is great. All straps/clasps are nice and tight. There is NO protection for the back of the head. I've been clocked pretty hard at the back of the head in a surfing accident so I'm not sure if I will keep this due that and due to the strap under the chin discomort ( it's possible this is how surf caps just are, I don't know). The protective coverage of the rest of the cap is the light duty kind that I was looking for. So if full coverage is what you need you'll need areal helmet. Not this. Thus the 2 stars removed. Might be sending this one back. I wanted to love it.....

Comfortable, lightweight
of course this does not provide the protection of a full helmet but this is a very well designed "hatmet" as I like to call it. I wear it surfing and it really is quite comfortable. I forget I have it on. keeps my bald spot from getting sun scorched. and my head size is 23" I usually order head things in medium/large and this fits me fine. Actually is a good looking hat.
