Screw quality

I have a V8 engine that I wanted to paint after coming back from the machine shop. I did not want paint in the threaded holes affecting my torque specs. Using bolts leaves protruding objects which affect paint coverage. These allen set screws were perfect for keeping the paint out of the threaded holes. I deducted 1 star as the fit a bit loose compared to my bolts. If actually used as setscrews, this would not likely be an issue.

I was delighted to find this set of small hex or allen wrenches and tiny screws. The faucet handles on our clawfoot tub were loose when we moved in and have finally just fallen off. Turns out, the screws were still there - just too tiny to see - and just needed to be tightened. One of the smallest wrenches did the job! I'm not sure I have any use for all of those screws, but if I were a plumber I would definitely keep a set like this in my truck. And, I'm happy to lend mine out to others who may be having a similar problem. Now I need to find a "hot" token to match the "cold" one, and it will be good as new.

These are super handy to have around. One of the screw sizes that I actually purchased this for (set screw to adjust bicycle brake calipers) was a bit too short for me to use, which was a bummer. But the quality is great and the variety also good. Not going to dock them because they couldn't predict exactly what length I needed. The screws all come individually packaged in little tiny ziplock bags. I found this unecessary and wasteful, but I've also seen reviews here of people complaing that the screws got mixed up and gawd forbid they had to look a little harder to find theirs. Meh,the packaging seems to keep them apart just fine and if they get a bit mixed, no big deal. Regardless, I like that they're reading reviews and improving things based on comments, even if i don't agree that the improvements were necessary. I also have their set of round and square head metric screws so now i can replace any metric screws around the house. It's kinda nice.

I needed to replace a threaded hex screw for a door knob. The one I used, was not the same length as the one I lost. However, the shorter one worked. I would think a common need for this set are door knob screws and you would think they would have the length that would match the one that was lost, not so. Anyway I got the shorter one to work.
