If you mean plugged into power permanently then that’s what I have done. The button on the box is useful as you can switch all power off from there. Not had any issues with mine at all

No but I’ve read other reviews where people have taped over the power button light. To be honest it’s not a strong light and it doesn’t bother me, and I have mine on my bedside table

Q: Can I plug this into snother extension lead

Nothing stopping you plugging into another extension, it will work, but I don’t believe daisy chaining extensions is a great thing to do
