I was skeptical about socks that are insect repellent. However, I spent a week in Florida, where flies run rampant and returned home without a single bite. Also, they keep your feet comfortable not overheat your feet. I love the socks! Highly recommended.

Central Texas. Mostly populated by mosquitos and fire ants. A few people. Since these socks (and other Insect Shield clothing) bites have dropped to almost zero. (Zero from fire ants, 1 or 2 from mosquitos, instead of dozens.)

I like the insect shield products and own jeans, pants, shirts, and socks from them. I can say that since I have started wearing their gear outdoors that I have not had a tick on me. I am a frequent hiker, camper and spend a lot of time outdoors in potential tick areas. Love their products. Their socks aren't quite 5 star as they are thinner than my liking, but I wear them anyway or with another pair... though in warmer weather I wish they were just more like hiking sock thickness. These are already quite expensive though and they are at the highest limit I'm willing to pay.

I have used these for several years and buy a new pair every year. I wear these socks when I go out birding. I pull them over the ends of my long pants and I have no tick (or other insect) bites on the legs yet. My only complaint is they are tight; tighter than some compression socks I own. On the plus side, that means they seal very tightly over your pants or bare legs.

Bought 2 pairs and after about 2 weeks there’s a hole in one sock. I think these socks do help protect from the bugs.

These don't even do as well as plain black socks at keeping bugs off. They seem like they draw bugs to you, and they don't do anything to keep your skin safe. Don't waste your money.
