Rough Country Suspension 639P Suspension Lift Kit

This lift will not even come close to clearing 31x10.50s without front finder trimming. The 4 inch lift i got sits higher in the back about a half inch and after I put the lift on the rear axel was out of alignment (from one of the springs I'm thinking is the only thing that could cause this issue) so l needed to buy adjustable rear lower control arms for $250.. I wanted a little more clearance so I put a 1 inch spacer in the rear and a 1.5 spacer in the front to make it sit level and now the rear shocks are maxed out sitting on flat ground(because the rear shocks are to small for the lift) I have also been fighting the death wobble with this lift before and after the spacers.. after changing all 4 ball joints, all tierod ends, replaced upper control arms with adjustables and 2 alignments from 2 different 4x4 shops and hundreds of dollars I still have the wobble. I'm thinking it's the track bar design or the front lower control arms design. I called and asked rough country about all this and they were of no help and seemed like they just wanted to get me off the phone.

I have installed this kit for six customers so far, and they all love it. Finally time for mine. 265/75's 31"ish are recommended but 33" tires do fit. The 33"s rub a bit on full lock, and in some high articulation situations, but oh well. The 2" spacer for the rear axle did come with shorter bolts then necessary on ONE occasion, but a fluke at best ($18 at the local hardware store remedied that). Rough Country makes a great lift kit, and I recommend them highly. This lift performs amazing in actual rough conditions. Going for looks only? Drives nearly stock. Win win.

I installed this kit on a 2001 limited v-8 with quadra drive and so far no drive line issues have came forward. The kit is quite complete but the instructions need to be updated with some of the required tools they call for not being needed like a 3/8 drill bit and 33m wrench or socket. Bring a friend along as some of the steps are much easier with two people to contort things. It does take the time allotted 6+ hours and have a spring compressor handy. As for the ride it is firmer but not what some would call harsh. It dose wander a little even with the additional dual shock steering kit as most lifted vehicles do. Mine was lifted 5" due to the old springs were sagging. Overall very happy with the kit and it now looks like a Jeep should.
