Three Days Grace: Live at the Palace 2008

if you've seen "three days grace" in person you probably don't need to read any reviews to know they are a solid band; at least that has been my experience both times they performed near my home town.. they kicked ass to put it bluntly! musically they are SOLID and their stage presents is what it should be; nothing more. WHEN I BOUGHT THIS ITEM i had expectations, and they were met. they could have made a great digitized concert even better if they had placed the tidbits of behind the scenes footage in a "bonus features" section in stead of in between practically every song.. But for any THREE DAYS GRACE fan, this is a must have concert. and if you've never had the chance to see them live, this is i suppose, the next best thing.

i love 3dg and this cd shows their concert in detroit. adam is full of energy as usual. it also has an acoustic version of alice in chains "here comes the rooster" sorry for giving it away. but anyway this cd is awesome they also do a long version of "home" just like they do at their concerts like when i seen them at uproar. they sang lose yourself by eminem. but i wont tell you what song they sing with home so it will be a surprise. i dont want to give the whole movie away. i watch this all the time and catch myself singing along with Adam Gontier. Such a great band. this is an awesome video full of upbeat and great music. worth buying for sure.

Already purchased this concert years ago, but lost the video. So I repurchased it on amazon. Honestly it’s when the band was in its prime as Adam is the lead singer, I have also seen them multiple times live! This video is great!!

Nice dvd. I don’t like the little bit of talking in between songs but like the music

This Blu is amazing, throughout the concert the PQ is quite good, giving 4/5, SQ is sweet, 5/5. The only thing that may affect enjoyability is the documentary bits between every song, wich by the way, have low quality video reference. If you love Three Days, then there's nothing to worry as they don't let down fans. So enjoy this like me, I'm in Puerto Rico so I haven't seen them live, so this is the next big thing for me. 5 STRS

I thought this was a pretty cool DVD. You got to see and learn a little bit about TDG and get a little dose of what life is like on the road. I didn't think it sounded as absolutely great as it could of, but it sill did sound pretty good.I would recommend this DVD regardless and I hope if you do get it that you will enjoy it!

This is one of the best concert DVDs I have ever seen. All their hits are there plus a bunch from their latest CD One-X. The sound and picture quality makes it seem like you're there. I highly recommend it. It's a must have for every fan. If you're not a fan you will be after watching the DVD. Go get it!

This is a phenomenal DVD. I've wanted it since it first came out and I JUST got enough money to order it. I couldn't be more pleased. The quality is OK, I wish it was better but i'm NOT complaining. Adam is amazing and I love the interviews between the songs. It makes it so it's more personal. ORDER IT.

I liked this product because it has a great live concert on the dvd. I like the interviews in between the songs. The songs cover their material well and there is a cover of Alice in Chains song 'Rooster'. This is a great example of Three Days Grace at their best!

Vorweg: Ich beziehe mich hier auf die Blu-Ray Umsetzung, dementsprechend kann das ein oder andere Detail sowie die Betrachtung der Bild- und Tonqualität stark von dem abweichen, das bisher geschrieben wurde.Zum Konzert selbst: Ich kann mich der Euphorie einiger Rezensenten nicht anschließen - Ja 3DG sind Live nicht schlecht, aber überragend fand ich diesen Auftritt nicht. Alles nach dem Motto: "Nicht zu viel bewegen, wir Filmen hier". Zusammen mit der Beleuchtung wirkt alles etwas flach, mir fehlt da etwas die Action, sprich das Raue das ein Konzert so an sich hat. Auch die Kameraführung ist einfach zu ruhig um die Stimmung von einer Alternative-Rock Band richtig in Szene zu setzen.Da fand ich die Umsetzung von den Toten Hosen beispielsweise um Welten besser. Oder auch Papa Roach: Live & murderous in Chicago ist wirklich eine ganze andere Klasse dagegen. Trotzdem, das Publikum war sehr genial und hat gut Stimmung gemacht und vom Sound her war 3DG genauso gut wie auf den Alben. Denn die Musik ist ohne Zweifel echt Top!Dann noch die Geschichte mit den eingeschnittenen Kommentaren. Ich fand es schon bei Green Day wirklich nervend und hier wird es auch kein Stück besser. Liebe Producer: Ja auch ich bin ein Fan von Backstage Material - aber bitte lasst das Konzert Konzert bleiben und macht das Backstage-Material als Extras auf die Scheibe!Bild- und Ton: Die Bildqualität ist auf jeden Fall über jeden Zweifel erhaben - Wie im Teil zuvor erwähnt wirkt es stellenweise schon fast zu gut um die Konzertatmosphäre richtig zu erzeugen. Lediglich die Backstage-Aufnahmen sind wohl nur mit SD-Cams aufgenommen worden. Die Bitrate liegt bei etwa 25 MBit mit verwendetem MPEG4-AVC Codec.Der Ton kommt wahlweise in Stereo, 5.1 Dolby Digital oder als 5.1 PCM-Stream (ca. 7 MBit) daher und klingt schon eher nach Konzert als das Bild aussieht. Die Abmischung ist etwas unglücklich, denn das Publikum ist einfach zu selten zu hören, lediglich wenn es "von der Regie gewollt" ist. Die Instrumente wiederum wurden sehr gut abgemischt, besonders der Bass ist nicht zu aufdringlich, aber auch nicht zu schwach.Probegehört auf einem Teufel Kompakt 30 an einem Denon AVR-1610.Fazit: Ganz nett, aber mit einigen Schwächen. 3,5 Sterne dafür.
