I would not recommend for you to use these clippers around a dog’s eyes. The clippers are a little noisy and could spook your dog and could cause damage their eye.

Q: Does this work well on the fur on TOP of the paw?

Yes, I do use it to trim the top of my dogs paws and it works well. Because it's small, it takes a bit longer to use but it does work. I hope this helps.
