This has worked surprisingly well so far.
Installed on customer’s 30-gallon air compressor tank to drain condensate. Added manual valve upstream and following continued use for 2-weeks, very little water/ vapor came out. Prior to installation of this product opening drain was like a fire hose!

Adapted to use on an older Dayton with 3/8” outlet
We used this drain by TRALLYER on an old Dayton compressor in one of our shops on our small farm. The drain outlet on this compressor is a 3/8” so we adapted it up to a ½” to fit this drain. It beats having to manually drain the condensation off this older compressor that requires removing the plug with a wrench. Of course, now there isn’t a ready supply of air at all times since it does drain the tank, but that not a problem for us.

Poor manufacturing
Will not adjust.

Keeps my air tanks dry for sure.
This water drainer is installed at the bottom of my IR-SS3L3 as part of some dryer upgrades to my entire pneumatic system. I've been fighting water and moisture within the air line for a while until I decided to do something it. I've added an air cooler, which took some extra electrical circuitry to add a 120vac power line to the existing 240vac power. Didn't want to tap one pole to offset the power deliver and make it unstable, so adding the 120vac circuit is the best way to go. Anyway, the air cooler runs through a radiator which cools the air pipe and keeps the compressed air cool and dry. The large 60 gallon tank becomes a collector for water at the bottom and have accumulated some rust. This drainer is placed at the water egress port to help automatically regular the release of water. I've also added a series of MotorGuard dryer bottle throughout different nodes of my pneumatic line. The entire system is now completely free of water and the dry air works well in my blasting cabinet also for air paint festivities. Love the outcome and wouldn't do it without any of these add-ons. This drainer is very easy to hook up. Just some 1/2" NPT fittings onto a copper line and we're good to go. I also hooked up the discharge end with a PU hose to guide the water out of my garage, so I don't leave a puddle of water around the compressor tank. The discharge rate can be adjusted using a knurled knob and with my setup, minimum firing interval can be used since my moisture control devices in the system already work so well. After some two week use, I no longer have that orange/muddy charge anymore. Mostly just clean transparent looking water coming out of the discharge. I couldn't be happier with this result. This discharge tank works well. 5-stars and highly recommended!

Better for industrial compressors but works
This is probably overkill for most home compressors, but it can work with them. Hooking it up with an adapter hose is usually going to be necessary but it works once hooked up. I saw a review criticizing this as not automatic which went into a tortured semantic analysis of the word automatic. It basically claims this isn’t automatic because it’s not a smart computerized drain or controlled by robots or something. They’re obviously not familiar with compressors and automatic drains because in the common use of the term, this is an automatic drain—it just activates regularly, not based on some smart sensor or something. Unless you’re an IT help desk guy who bought his first compressor to air up his Tesla and e-scooter tires, this will more than likely work for you.

This is a commerical solution, not a homeowner way to clear water from your compressor.
I bought this with the hope that it would drain the 180 lb compressor in my garage. When I got it and read the directions it requires a hose from the compressor to this Pneumatic auto water drainer, that is larger than the compressor hose to this device. So I bought a hose from the compressor to a valve that would drain the compressor (for much less), and that works great, not automatic, but just turn the value on the hose and it drains. If you own an auto shop with multiple compressors, it's a great tool, but just not for me.

Do not buy. Does not work as advertised.
This product does not work as advertised. It is not pressure loss free, it drained my 60 gallon tank and triggered the compressor in less than 4 minutes. After running for around an hour, barely any water was coming out of drain. After removing, tank had considerable water in it. Returning and will replace with one that triggers when the compressor turns on. Having a “float” that auto drains is a nice thought, but this runs constantly and never stops, even when there is no moisture at all (when first installed).
