LOVE THIS!
Real wood, easy assembly, gorgeous finish and perfect for my husbands hunting friends (2 separate beds) and my visiting family (1 king bed) I highly suggest getting a gap filler for using as a king. This bed was one of the best purchases I’ve made in a very long time

Elegant Daybed
Follow the directions precisely and this daybed goes together perfectly. Factory screw holes and bolts are meticulously prepared and each part is numbered. Do not tighten down each bolt as it’s placed until a whole section is assembled and then tighten the screws and bolts. Attaching the back rail to the side rails needs patience and 2 people and again do not tighten bolts until the parts are together. 8”mattress is the maximum size for trundle. Bedding in this picture includes two 8” foam mattresses, waterproof sheets, cotton mattress pad, stretch microfiber blue sheet for coverup. I like the wood to show so a typical daybed cover doesn’t look so nice. Very sturdy, comfortable bed.

Seems great so far!
Shipping was fast and the daybed looks great after putting it together, however, we did not receive the pop up trundle that makes this a twin to king as advertised.Edit: the trundle was shipped separately and arrived it a few days later.

Unusable after 1 year
This bed is pretty but it is flimsy construction and materials. This bed is completely unstable after one use, by an elderly petite family member who weighs 104 lbs. This bed has barely been used over the past year in my guest room. I can count three visits by my elderly aunt. I went to scoot the bed back against the wall after making the bed. The trundle part was across the room. As I was doing so it seemed really loose and just cracked where two screws secure the front side to the head of the bed. See photos. I spent 600 dollars on this flimsy set up and I had to make it with a payment plan after my home flooded. It was a hardship to buy and now I need to pay to have it removed from my home. More money down the drain. I called Amazon and all the company was willing to do was replace it. So I can have another one break and have to pay to replace it????? No thanks. AWFUL. I want my money back. I am going to look on resale sites and find an old one that was built properly and with real wood or metal. DO NOT throw your money in the toilet on any of the Kodiak furniture. They will not help you a year from now when it falls apart!

Our experience
This bed has a nice wood finish and presents well. Bottom trundle rolls out easily and pops up as advertised. We had to contact the manufacturer to replace one of the rear posts that had odd and irregular predrilled holes making it impossible to put that section together. This was replaced with another post quickly and worked well. The rear vertical slats did not screw in flush and so there is a rickety feel to the back main support. Since this wasn’t discovered until after we had the post replaced, we decided to SETTLE for this annoyance. You will definitely need a drill to re- drill some holes and an electric screwdriver in some places, even then , nothing was perfect. Since this daybed will only be used with guests, we will not return. Also, don’t order the cushions shown with it. Order regular mattresses.

Looks great, easy to assemble, mattress gap
Two things first: these are for regular twin mattresses, the bottom fits a max 8" thick mattress. The biggest disappointment that no other reviews (from other sites) mentioned was that there is still a 2-3" gap between mattresses when turned into a king. You'll need to buy a topper or a gap filler which IMHO is an annoying extra expense.Besides those two points, everything else is great. It feels sturdy, the pop up design is just what we needed for frequent in-law visits and I anticipate using it as two separate twins when the kids' friends visit in the future.Pricy up front, but I'm thinking it's a solid long term investment and is a welcome solution to the two level trundle bed options that are so common.

Nice trundle bed for a guest bedroom
This trundle bed fit our needs for a guest bedroom. Being able to transform it to a King size was a big selling feature. The bed was delivered in two boxes which were each 6-7 feet long. Each weighed a good bit but not more than a 64 year old could wrestle with. Even though the boxes were fairly 'beat up' in shipping, I was pleased to see that there was no damage to any of the wood pieces within. There was LOTS of packing material. Each piece is clearly marked i.e. numbered and the included directions were fairly straight forward. The hardware includes an allen wrench for assembly. Having a medium sized flat blade screw driver helped to align the nuts in the assembly process. I guess solo assembly would have been possible but with my wife, it went quicker and greatly reduced the chance of damage done when assembling. We used a cordless drill which helped a lot as there are a number of wood screws and bolts required. As with most items of this nature, it helped to get each bolt/screw started in each sub-assembly prior to tightening down all the way. My wife and I are very pleased with the final out-come of the bed. The 8.5" clearance between the slats of the lower mattress frame and the bottom of the upper bed frame was just right for an 8" mattress.Once we have had guests and actually use this trundle bed, I will update this review. At this point though, very pleased with this purchase.
