Chain Tensioner Pads for Twins Cam (8078)

Replacing cams in my bike. the OEM shoes were slightly worn. Went to the dealer to pick up a set and they do not sell just the replacement shoes. $40+ for each assy. Really! Started looking for just the shoes. found a couple aftermarket company's have them. Went with Feuling. Easy install, perfect fit and less than half the price.

Direct replacement for the stock shoes in the stock hydraulic tensioners.

They worked as they should. Replaced OEM parts when doing other upgrades.

At 92k I was doing some maintenance on my bike. Figured since I was there I'd put some new tensioners. My stock still had plenty of life, but I was already there. Found a set of Fueling since I've been happy with their products in the past. 30k later the inner tensioner has worn completely through the pad and into the metal. That's disappointing. If you're going to replace yours, just stick with OEM so you don't have to do it again!

Good stuff

There's a small chunk out of this shoe...it was on the inner chain. Outer one looks like it was ready to loose a chunk too. These have been in my bike for about 8k miles...not very good. My stock ones with 35k looked better when I swapped them for these. These will not be going back in my bike. I used a high quality motorcycle specific synthetic oil that I changed at 3k miles or less. I'll try cyco or s&s this time.

Less than 19,000 miles. Major drop in oil pressure because it was being pumped straight through the shoe. Piece of red plastic laying in the bottom of the cam chest. Back to OEM.
