The CureWish 30th Anniversary

Love this!!
I have purchased all of these limited edition new order re-issues. I think they’re great. However, it is important to know that I am a complete fanatic and have collected multiple items from their catalog. I have CDs, vinyl, memorabilia, etc. I think these Expanded editions are wonderful for big fans of the band and I am very happy and grateful that they took the time to put together these products. If you just want to listen to the music, just stream it, however, if you are like me and enjoy collecting , various cool and unique issues from your favorite artist, I think all of these releases are excellent. Happy listening.

The wait is over!
I bought Wish on compact disc when it originally came out in April 1992. In short, the remastered release is clearer, cleaner and sounds amazing. The packaging leaves much to be desired especially since the third disc resides inside the package’s paper case sleeve. The corner ripped a bit due to attempting to retrieve the disc without getting finger prints on the disc underside.Cure fans are no doubt going to purchase the three disc version. I found out about the mail-in order ‘Lost Wishes’ cassette long after it had been an option for fans to purchase so I’ve been waiting a long time to hear them on disc. In a nutshell, they sound far better on disc than any third party offering.I’m reminded that this was the last album with Boris William when I listen to the demos. His timing and style really come through in the early sessions. ‘Wish’ was definitely a more guitar oriented recording than ‘Disintegration’ and you can tell this iteration of The Cure is an amalgamation sans Roger O’Donnell.I remember listening to ‘The Big Hand’ at the end of the Picture Show VHS collection of videos and feel strong that there was a saxophone in that “instrumental” but I don’t hear it as pronounced in the demo on disc 2 which makes me think there is still another version out there. While I do enjoy it, I definitely enjoy the post production release as a B side on ‘A Letter to Elise’ also available on ‘Join the Dots’.I also remember hearing ‘Cut’ as performed at the “T&C2 secret gig” performance on the ‘Play Out’ VHS so it’s great to hear a demo version of that on this release. When The Cure released the ‘High’ maxi-single, it had the ‘Higher Mix’ that was not a part of the ‘Join the Dots’ release so it’s nice to hear that again as well. In summary, all of the “extras” are superlatives in clarity and well worth the purchase of this deluxe edition.

A really cool release!
A great album, a cool set of previously unreleased tracks. I really enjoy the album and the bonuses, and I am happy I've bought that Deluxe edition. The third disk, however, could have been awarded a better place than that paper pocket. Fortunately I have some spare slim jewel cases, and have moved the disk in one of those, so the original cardboard case is in safety now.

I love The cure!
It is not my favorite album of the band, but it is in a very close place. I have bought this album about 4 times. I have always kept the box because I have lost it. I have the original vinyl from 1992 and also the cassette version. the tour of this album "Show" on Cd and vinyl and the singles. Logically I had to have this special edition. But this is for someone who has The Cure as their favorite band. If you are not, I recommend it, it is the easiest of The Cure albums to listen and enjoy.

One of the best albums that The Cure has put out.
A great album and the extra disk is interesting, gives you a look at some alternative versions of the music.

Definitely one of The Cure's best!
Head on The Door is my favorite Cure album and Disintegration is awesome, but Wish ranks right up there with both. Sure it has the mega-hit "Friday I'm In Love" but it also has some incredible songs like "Trust" and "From The Edge Of The Green Sea". Did I mention "Doing The Unstuck" and "Wendy Time"? This three disc set has some great demos and unreleased tracks. Cure fans had to wait a long time for this reissue but it was definitely worth the wait!

Good Album Overshadowed By Previous Album Disintegration
This album is often maligned & misunderstood. A lot of fans could not relate to Friday I’m In Love. I like the album. It was hard to come up with a follow up album to the masterpiece. Good try! I won’t listen to it that much. I’ll always remember it for the tour. I bought a ticket a year in advance. It was a spectacle for sure at the Long Beach Convention Center. Great band. Great music. I like the band more for their dark sets like they played at the Inland Invasion & Coachella. More reflective of their goth roots. I still think this album is worth playing once in awhile. It’s got some good songs. How about that live version of The Big Hand they played at the London Town & Country, though it didn’t make the album? Wonderful song that could have been so much better than what came out of the studio. I guess I’m a little conflicted, but I appreciate the effort. When I want to cheer up a little then I can play this album. The Cure still rule. I’ve seen them play live, more than any other band, at least 7 or 8 times. You should see them soon, while they’re still performing. They really shine onstage. They probably won’t play Friday I’m In Love.

It sounds incredible!!!
I am already giving it 5 stars and only listened to the first disc so far...it sounds wonderful on my old HK and JBLs. Better than being 13 and hearing it for the first time. Can't wait to hear the next 2 discs!

Asombroso
"¡Happy the Man!" ;)
