This smoke box is so thin that it can be placed under my Weber 325 grill, so that the wood chips work incredibly well.

Great product at a good price

This is a simple steel box that holds wood chips to add smoke flavoring in your outdoor grill. I bought this to grill a turkey for thanksgiving based on a recipe for "The Best Grilled Turkey." I soaked and added a handful of hickory wood chips and a handful of cherry wood chips to the box and put it alongside the turkey's roasting pans inside of the gas grill. Three and a half hours later, with some basting, I had a perfectly roasted and smoked turkey. The wood chips in the box had turned into charcoal. The chips came out of the box easily, once I pried the cover open. In the first exposure to heat, the steel box warped enough to make opening the lid difficult. In the end, it's a steel box that holds wood chips.

I like this item. I did not know I could have woodsmoke with the gas grill and am so glad I found this. I find it smokes better if the wood chips have been smoked before using. It is easy to open and dump the charred wood after it has been cooled. I would recommend it for anyone wishing to have the flavor of wood smoke with their gas grill.
