I WAS sooo nervouse to make my over 2000 mile trip from Washington state back to Wisconsin with this but after a few test drives at higher speeds I felt somewhat safe. So I made my way home in the middle of March and I became TOTALLY trusting in this purchase! It was sooo secure I never worried. I drove at 80 mph even for lengthy periods and it stayed secure. Maybe some small sounds from the tiny ends I couldnt secure but NOTHING that bothersome. You cant even hear it unless you have nothing playing inside the car. Ive secured kayaks often to my car and without a roof rack ever I know these ends need to be secured,,so twist them up and tie er up the best you can for limited flapping,,THIS was a godsend and I EVEN got it back in the storage bag it came in. It WILL be used again Im sure,,as I travel for work and always make too many purchases to fit everything back in my car for my trip home again. The anti slip mat was nice too.Take your time folding and pushing the air out when you want to place back into the storage bag and youll be fine! Thank you! Best purchase ever and sooo cheap!!

The media could not be loaded.  In the middle of a military move and quickly realized my car is too small. In the video I have a large suit case, 2 sea bags, a medium air mattress, a tent, and a bow bag, and I have more room to stuff things if I wanted too. A lot bigger than I anticipated and very sturdy, easy to secure to car.

Purchased this cargo carrier with the expectation that it would likely not survive the trip, and was pleasantly disappointed. Now, after logging over 3,000 miles of use I can come here and attest to the fact that these Golkcurx Cargo Carriers are nearly indestructible. The heavy duty material does not rip or tear from wind damage, and the double stitched seams keep the carrier held together at the traditional weak points, such as the zipper. Speaking of that, the zippers are well constructed, and there are no issues with the alignment of the teeth, and the zipper cover keeps dirt and bug bits from getting into the carrier while on the road. The straps and the plastic clips do an amazing job of securing the bag to the roof of the vehicle, and I have had no issues with the bag sipping or moving, even after I accidentally broke one of the clips. So why only 4 stars when the product is this great? I have yet to encounter any rain while using the carrier so I cannot speak to the product's claims of being weatherproof, but I will come back and update this review as soon as I have that information. This cargo roof bag literally went through rain, sleet, snow, high winds, and south humidity. Drove from Florida to the pacific north west with this on the top of my Prius. As shown, no roof rack was used, only the bag and the straps that go in the weather stripping. The bag itself is in great condition and only has some dead bugs on it after almost 3600 miles. A little bit of a hose down and it’s good as new. No cracks after the extreme cold or winds. My only complaint is that the rain leaked down the straps due to it needing to be installed under the weather stripping- but this could have been user error. Other than that, it’s a great value for the quality of product and the space it gives you. I definitely tested this in extreme weather just prior to a tropical storm and just barely dodged a tornado and this bag didn’t rip or fly open or anything. Highly recommend this for the budget conscious traveler who needs more cargo space.

Easy to use, held up in the rain. We used this on a 1400 mile round trip and I have no complaints. Great product for the price.

The overall waterproof was great as long as the unit stays FULL! It was easy to install and stayed in place with the anti-slip mat however after taking out my shower tent and other supplies to use for camping it was no longer full but all my Velcro attachments were still closed and it only took one good downpour, 3 days later I go to get something out of it and everything was soaking wet! Not too much got ruined but I had to hang everything up to dry out. Pro tip if you have clothes that get wet spray them down with vinegar and water half mixed and hang dry in sun to get the musty smell out before rewashing. Lesson learned I will never buy another soft top carrier again simply because the zipper is not waterproof and no matter how good you have it closed everything might get wet

This carrier was great for our vacation travel. We were not sure if it could withstand rain, so we did put our bags in trash bags just in case, and we did travel in rain, but there was no evidence of any dampness when we unpacked. The price was a reason we purchased and did not expect it to be as sturdy as it turned out to be. We were very happy with this purchase.

After we packed it didn’t seem sturdy.
