Alzheimer’s
My grandmother passed at 73 with severe Alzheimer’s. At the end, she remembered details from her grade school days more so than her children standing around her. She was terrified most of the time. Afraid because she did not know, nor understand what was going on around her because it was all strange and new and upsetting. It was hard to watch her during these years, and when she finally passed on to her reward, we all felt it as a blessing. This book brought a lot of those memories back and I thank the author for his tender approach to crafting a story about an individual’s struggle with memory loss.

This is a good story. Don't listen to the popular criticisms.
Honestly, I have a habit of reading reviews. And with this series, it's been a mistake. If these "critics" were correct, then they'd write their own damn stories and be successful. They can't. So read the book and make you're own judgment.

Fallen Stars
"So that’s how I spent my summer. Demon bashing, portal closing, not remembering. We had three more breaches to close in New York. One in Manhattan, one on Long Island, and the last in Buffalo." - Christian GordonAnd then things REALLY got crazy.....

Really good series
I am 5 books in, and am really enjoying the story and a lot of the characters. I have seen some people say Chris is too powerful, my opinion is that is nonsense. He exorcises demons, dodges in no particular order- vampire assassins, were assassins, the government, a crazy shadow group or three, the government, plotting vampires that are over 800 years old, portals to hell, the government, witches, a group that wants to capture him to experiment on him, everyone after his mate, and the most evil of all… the government. If he wasn’t as powerful as he is this would have been a 19 page short story, he would have been steam rolled that early. Let us also recap on exactly what he is…Angel with Vampire, Were and Demon essence in him, if anything he isn’t powerful enough, he is a one man army put here to deal with the issues of 10’s of thousands of supernaturals. How powerful would you need to be to be that man? ‘Nuff said

Such a great series so far except...
for this one. The memory loss trope is annoying, frustrating, and such BS. Yeah, I read the acknowledgments, and I know why she wrote that storyline, but I HATE IT. The whole plot with Stacia--I couldn't stand it. And I can't stand her as a character -- hooray another female character that throws herself at a fully committed male because she's that desperate and can't take no for an answer. Love that trope too **massive eye roll**

Still a fan but REALLY Disappointed!! (minor spoilers)
First let me say that I truly enjoy the series. Now To say why I think the author REALLY disappointed me. I will not detail a lot of the information that he put into the book but I have to say that two of the plot hooks that he used really struck MAJOR BS flags for me. The first is his interaction with the were Stacia. Through the first four Demon Accord books, Mr. Conroe has taken great pains to exhibit that both Tanya and Christian are VERY attached and that they 1) are very jealous of anyone that shows a romantic interest in the other and 2) they are so bound to the other that they are not interested or even cognoscente of interest from others towards themselves. In Falling stars he then has Stacia say flat out to Christian that she was going to break up the two of them and get downright pissy when she hears half a conversation where a character tells Christian to stay with Tanya. After this, does Christian tell her that there is zero chance of him leaving Tanya and to stop thinking of breaking them up? No, he just goes along "assuming" that she will stop at some point trying to end the relationship. Given that he kinda goes APE S*** when ever others, like select darkkin, HINT at it this really seemed out of character and highly suspect to me. Given some of the comments/ talk that I have seen on the chats and reviews for previous books in the series, I can only assume that the reasoning for this is as he felt some people want to have a love triangle, or at least a contest for Christian. Like I said this was a disappointment as it is such a HUGE change for personality for the main character along with changing the act of the chosen entirely. The second is a plot hook that was delivered right around the middle of the story (I have seen this item stated in other reviews as a issue). He has Christian sustain trauma to the brain that leads to losing his memory of his time with Tanya. Given that in previous books the reaction and speed that his alternate persona has when he is in control is staggering, this felt like a HUGE cop-out. If you get the the end he even says that he had heard that people thought the main character was too tough and this lead to him doing this. The amnesia plot point is one that I for one have VERY little respect for. It is used very prevalently when the author wants to input drama and try and weaken their character when they feel they are too entrenched or powerful. Like I stated for my problem with Stacia, given the history of Grim and also the interaction he has with Angels, the fact that he even gets this was a major stretch for me. Then to have him get some minor flashes of memory but for the most part not retain enough of his persona even back h to be strongly bonded with Tanya, and in one case even threaten to destroy her world by leaving her out of his life entirely? Are you serious! Either the author did not remember what he has Christian say MULTIPLE times, that "I am hers and she is mine", or when Tanya basically has a eureka moment when she really is his chosen as well as he is hers. So if choosing is so strong and he feels this way, why would he, even with memory problems threaten to destroy her world?

Standard Good Stuff
John Conroe keeps this series fresh, with new plots and storylines. Book five takes a unique twist with the main character, which was entertaining.

Excellent
Excellent as is becoming usual for this author. Tightly paced, this instalment deals with some old enemies, sets up some potential new ones, and still has time for character development.

what a book!
So many people have said that the main character in this series is overpowered and that they don't really like him because nothing can stand in his way. This book sees that being addressed in such a way that makes the story even more interesging. Having read the authors notes at the end, I am in awe of John Contoe. He has taken family tragedy and used it continue to craft a great series, but also to pay his respects to his lost family members. JC does such a great job crafting the situations, that the whole way through this book I conitued to wait with baited breath for what was going to happen and where the story was going to end. Some threads from previous books are closed off, others are opened and then like any great tapestry, others are added into the weave. Can't wait to get into book 6 and the next 8 instalments after that.

I ran out of stars to give this book.
I am a huge fan of this series. I just bought this book today and I could not put it down until I finished it. I can't really say much without giving any spoilers but it is very well written in my opinion with good editing. This book is a great continuation of the series and it does answer several questions that have been brought up in previous books. Now all that is left is the long wait for the next book.

This is worth your time to read
Great writing, so much fun to read a book style along less female lines yet still making interest levels remain engaged with a very intriguing romance. John Conroe can write this genre!

Fallen Stars
Really fast paced action, with a nice progression of the story. I love the fact that Chris is facing his own challenges but still maintaining his humility & humanity.
