Purchased these exterior smart shades for the large front windows of our Sierra Mountain home. With a southern facing exposure, the morning sun shines directly into the windows on the left side of our living room and as the day goes by, the afternoon sun shines in the right side living room windows. I was concerned that the UV rays of the sun would damage our flooring and furniture. After reading about these shades, I decided to give them a try and WOW, I'm so glad I did!. We ordered the black color knowing this would allow us to see the beautiful vistas clearly through the shades when they were down. The shades are extremely well made and work beautifully. You can program them to automatically roll down and up at specific times which is totally awesome. We have been using ours daily for the past 3 months without so much as a hick-up. They filter the light beautifully and roll up and down smoothly. I love how the remote allows you to give the shades a little "bump" to completely tighten them when they are down, creating a flawlessly smooth, tight surface. Couldn't be happier with the purchase. They were shipped from China (I was a bit skeptical about what the quality would be like in the beginning) and they arrived swiftly, it only took 5 days and they were at our door! Easy enough for my husband to install (he's a General Contractor) and they look neat and clean on the outside. As I mentioned previously, they are really well made, really nice quality and work like a charm! We have the solar panels on the top to keep them charged and you can easily see the little blue light on the side of the housing, letting you know that all is well. They do come with a USB cord to charge if need be, but so far the solar panel has kept them fully charged. Don't hesitate to give these a try, you won't be disappointed!

Ordered 2 ceiling mounted 84inch blinds for outside patio to block afternoon sun. Both blinds were received earlier than expected and well packaged. Very easy to install, got both to work together with a single remote and Alexa integration process was well documented and straightforward. Did not purchase solar panel, instead used supplied usb cables with personal 5volt 2.1amp charger for each (old iphone chargers).The 3% Opacity/sun blockage was just right for us, no more squinting on the deck in the afternoon:)I sent the seller 2 questions, both responses received within 24 hours. First was related to the phone app referenced in the installation manual which I could not get to work. It seems the phone app requires a "Graywind Hub" that needs to be purchased separately. The purchased single remote and Alexa was sufficient control so will not be purchasing.I did have an issue with disabling the remote on 1 blind while trying to get the blind to pair with phone app. 2nd email to Graywind resolved this issue quickly. There is a non-documented procedure to pair blind with remote that worked. Below is what worked for us, apparently this is motor specific so if it happens to you and procedure below does not work then email Graywind (they need your Amazon order number to send correct procedure)From Graywind to re-pair remote with blind"1.Reset the motor: Press and hold the reset button on the side of the motor until the motor jogs four times.2.Connect the motor with the remote: (1) Press and hold the reset button on the motor until the motor jogs once. (2) Choose a channel. (3) Press the P button on the back side of the remote and the motor will jog twice."When placing the order expect an email via Amazon from seller within a day confirming dimensions before completing order. NOTE - this is the only opportunity to change side of blind usb plugs into (motor side) as default is right side and this configuration option is not available when placing initial order online.After pricing locally and with other vendors ended up spending less than half the price on essentially the same blind. Overall happy with purchase, had a couple of issues post install that were quickly resolved by the vendor hence the 5 star rating.

These blinds are so frustrating to try and set the bottom limit. The instructions are terrible, it keeps talking about entering P20 mode but there are no instructions on how to do it! I guess you are just supposed to leave them where the factory set them, leaving them waving in the wind!Update: after emailing customer service, who replied very quickly with perfect instructions I am changing my rating from 2 to 4. Thanks again Ray from customer service.

I have now purchased three Graywind shades. I have been consistently impressed with the design and the amount of thought that has gone into every detail.The packaging(!) is a Work of Art - and it works! The last order I received had a seriously mangled box. Nothing in the box was harmed, at all! Someone needs to film an unboxing video for their Graywind shades, because I can't express how well done and amazing it really is in words! A Bento Box for your delivery hints at it, but doesn't get to the awesome heart of the box!The Install is easy! The details - like screw covers - are great! And the mounting hardware are robust (the metal in the brackets is 1/8 inch thick!). And the mounting is flexible - which great in a house where nothing is square, flat, or plumb!Oh, yeah, they also work - the shades provide . . . shade. And, given the quality of design, crafting, and materials I expect that shade will be there for years to come!Stop waffling and BUY THIS NOW!
