Star Wars The Black Series Elite Praetorian Guard

Hasbro generally does a good job with troopers and helmeted figures, but the Elite Praetorian figure might just set a new standard. This figure is gorgeous. I really love the design of these Praetorian guards. The hearken back to the rich red of the Imperial Royal Guards in Return of the Jedi without simply copying that design. Hasbro did justice to that design. The detailing is very good, with subtle work on the armor. What really surprised me is the articulation. The skirt is flexible enough to let the legs move in any direction. And the arms can actually bend almost 90 degrees, despite the fact that the ridged design seems like it would inhibit movement. That's better than the standard First Order Stormtrooper! (you might have to make sure that all three pieces that make up the arm are aligned to get a full bend). I especially appreciate the fact that the joints are almost invisible.My only complaint is a general one about the Black Series line. Hasbro has to get better quality control. My figure came with small black paint drops on the back of the skirt. It certainly wasn't enough to ruin the figure, but that's simply not acceptable in a collector's line.Overall, I'm really liking this figure. I'm definitely excited to see these Praetorian guards in action in the final film.

This six inch or 1:12 scale Amazon exclusive version of the intriguing and mysterious Praetorian Guard, part of Hasbro's Star Wars: The Black Series line of action figures, is another excellent example of the Praetorian Guards in figure form. In addition to the impressive in scope heavy blade weapon, he also comes with the sword which looks to already be iconic Praetorian Guard imagery. The arm articulation can be a bit tricky to discover at first, but there is a nice amount of articulation hidden in the armor design (which is usually considered a plus by fans, articulation hidden by the fabric folds or other elements of the design). A worthy addition to a Star Wars Black Series or similar collection.

A really great figure and an interesting design for the character. The arms are a bit tough to find the elbow joint, but it is there. You just have to be certain to get it turned correctly in order to bend at the elbow.Very striking figure. Lets hope that they have an interesting role in the upcoming movie.

As the title states, the figure is able to bend its arms thanks to a rubbery armor plate over the elbow joint; it just takes a bit of work. As that’s been the main complaint of the figure, I though I should address it.Overall, Hasbro did a pretty great job executing the design Lucasfilm gave them. Only defect is a slight scuff on the chest armor (while I actually like), and I wish the lower skirt was soft goods like the exclusive Pratorian Guard that comes in the Gamestop/Barnes and Noble 4 pack has. I can’t wait to get that one and the Amazon exclusive one now!

Gave this to my son for Christmas. He really liked it. Said it was cool and looked better than the picture. Came on time and packaged well. Would recommend to any Star Wars fan.

The figure has a hard time standing up and the figure’s weapon has paint chipped off and the box it came in was damaged and the figure feels used!
