Hurricane - Dog Ear P90

This pickup has great sound and gain. I replaced my original Epiphone P90, which has a nice sound but a low gain. The installation was easy: just remove the old one and solder the new. No drilling or routing my Epiphone Casino. The only think I dislike is the plastic cover. When I bought it, I thought is was metallic. I couldn't fit the original metal one from the Epiphone P90 as the pole/screw holes don't align. I tried using if without the cover, but without a ring or something to cover the hole in the guitar it doesn't look good. So I put the cover back again. Anyway, I fully recommend it.

I put this pickup on my Firefly Les Paul Jr, and the sound is great. The sound was actually pretty good from the original pickup, but now the sound is much richer and much fuller. I highly recommend.

When I got this, I was wanting to warm up a cheaper modern jr type guitar that was way too bright. I thought the problem was probably the pickup because the guitar was made of the correct woods. I wanted to fix it without breaking the bank. This fit the bill nicely. The guitar now sounds like a jr should. Beautiful! I couldn't be happier. Buy with confidence. Very toneful and responsive pickup.

This is a excellent pick-up for a rebuild or new build. The tone and quality is way above what I expected. You can pay more for a EMC or Seymour...but why!! The Hurricane has Alnico 2 Bar Magnets just like the Seymour Antiquity so why pay more than twice the price for a pickup that, in my opinion, has the same sound quality. Great job BYO!!

These guys make some of the best pickups, especially for the price! This is my 3 set (all different models) and like all the others, I wasn't disappointed. They really nail that vintage P-90 growl.
