Works well
Easy to install, works well, good customer service. As other customers say, it reduces sound quality compared to JBL OEM but it sounds fine

It was good, until it wasn't.
I have had the CarbAbc in my 2019 Tundra over a year. I didn't like the screen resolution issue right away but I understood the limitations of this module from the beginning and wasn't expecting great quality. I got used to the little quirks it has because the most important things to me personally did work. I mainly cared about having Pandora, Spotify, and Waze to be usable. Yes the screen is not very touch responsive but I got used to it and lowered my expectations and lived happy with it. Every time I get in the truck, I know it takes 20 seconds to have my phone connect with it and boot up everything properly. Just got used to it all. What I don't like is that now after one year, the screen color just changed one day. It is now ALMOST black and white looking like the color is gone. Now color is important to me for visual cues while using Waze maps and such. THIS is a deal breaker and now I have no choice but to find a new unit to replace this module. I wanted to keep my stock screen but I guess I'm out of luck!

Better than nothing.
This is a truly half-assed device in a world with zero competition. You can't buy anything else at this price point that adds CarPlay or Android Auto to an Entune head unit from anybody, and Carabc has taken full advantage of that fact by cutting plenty of corners.Video and sound quality from this box are both somehow WORSE than what your Entune head unit provides on its own. But hey, at least I've got CarPlay/Android Auto (CP/AA) now. Yay?[ VEHICLE INFO ]I installed this in a 2017 Toyota Mirai. The stereo is a Panasonic 86100-62073. It's not on the official list of compatible devices, but it runs Entune 2.0 so this works fine with it. Cramming this box and all of its wiring into the stereo cavity was really difficult, but I found that laying it flat underneath the head unit got me close enough to screw everything back in.The only tool I needed for installation was a 10mm socket wrench. I didn't need a pry tool or anything. Every trim piece was easily removed by hand with a firm grip.I'm using this box for Android Auto.[ AUX IN ]If you're in the Entune interface, you activate this box by changing the audio input to "aux in". Entune immediately disappears and CP/AA fills the screen. You can toggle back to the Entune system by double-pressing the power/volume button. This means that yes, you do lose aux-in functionality as long as this is installed in your car. If you decide Carabc isn't for you and you want to stop using it - but don't want the hassle of uninstalling it - the *only* thing that you'll "lose" is aux-in.[ BLURRY DISPLAY ]The biggest problem with this device is the blurry display obviously, but in every review I've read, people keep blaming their head units. ("It's old so it's a limitation of the factory radio" etc etc). That's incorrect.Look, there is nothing wrong with your Entune head unit. It has the capability of displaying a crisp, sharp CarPlay/AndroidAuto screen. The problem is this stupid box only outputs a low resolution, so that image is being stretched out to fit onto your screen. Obviously it's going to look like a turd. The native resolution of my screen (and most 2017 Entune head units) is 800x480.This dumb little box gives you a choice of two output resolutions, and neither one is right: 670x470 OR 709x470.Why? I have no idea. Of all the corners to cut, this was not a good one. "Blurry screen" comes up in almost every review! There is currently no way to fix this. Carabc *may* be able to issue a firmware update that increases the resolution in the future, but they've already got your money and there are no updates available on their website, so that seems unlikely. If this low output resolution is a limitation of their hardware, then there's nothing they can do except sell you a v2 of this box in the future.[ BACK-UP CAMERA ]Based on what I've read here, the first thing I did when I turned this on was change the backup camera from the default setting of "aftermarket" to "original equipment". The backup camera works fine. Haven't had a problem with it yet.[ SOUND ]Compared to Entune, the sound quality coming from this box is absolutely awful. Play any music, then toggle back to Entune and play the same music. It's a night and day difference. You can't use this box and listen to your factory radio's AM/FM/XM at the same time. You're either in Entune mode or you're in CP/AA mode, and each mode takes over the video and audio entirely. It might help to think of it like changing the input on your TV. One workaround is to install the TuneIn and XM apps on your phone and use those instead. If you're in CP/AA mode, the hardware buttons on your radio (audio/home/apps/etc) do nothing.[ LONGEVITY ]I've had this installed for less than 24 hours and clearly the first impressions are nearly all bad.I'm going to try to live with it for a week, but right now I'm 95% sure I'll be sending this back.

Pretty good so far for my 2015 Camry! EDITED 12/24
This was a birthday present. The installation was easy, as long as you take your time and don’t rush it. My dad is a mechanic so he insisted on installing it for me, but I am confident that I could’ve done it myself. The touch screen is picky, but that’s not the carABC’s fault. You can’t press directly on anything, I think the screen is misaligned and needs to be adjusted and I don’t know how to do that. Adjusting the volumes and the EQ was especially difficult. For the most part it works very well, except there is an issue that happens after you hang up from a call. The music resumes playing but there is no sound. The only way to fix this is to turn airplane mode on and off on your phone. Once it reconnects to your car, you can usually go back to the carABC interface and it’s working again. There was one occasion also that it had disconnected and said my phone was in airplane mode when it wasn’t.Overall though, this is a great way to get CarPlay or Android Auto for your slightly older car without replacing the stereo. Just be mindful of the occasional quirk.EDIT 12/24: The screen alignment has been fixed, I had to go into the settings menu and choose a different resolution! I didn’t know about that before, so it’s a relief to have it centered properly. Everything is still working great, I was worried about having to update the CarABC at some point, but so far so good!

It Just Works!!!!
I hooked this up in my 2016 Toyota Camry and it works perfectly! Installation was not hard, you only need a Phillips screwdriver and a plastic trim tool. Took no time at all to install. Setup was easy, and every time I get in my car, it just works! I love it! Highly recommended!!!!
