gray man and zoya
Wow! This was a great story. Builds slowly with new plots entering just at the right time. I feel another great story coming after this one. Lots of suspense and twists.

If There Was A 6-Star Rating........
What can I say! This was Court Gentry/The Gray Man doing what he does best. From the Caribbean to much of Europe and then to the US, the story moves along really well. It's definitely a book that is hard to put down. At the same time, it's a book that I found I needed to put down for a bit to catch my breath. It's intense for sure.In the end, some get what they asked for. The CIA has some cleaning up to do. Russian money supporting espionage activities in the US and elsewhere is severely disrupted. And Court and Zoya are together at least for a while. Who knows what the next installment will bring. This is a good book.

Action packed and thoroughly entertaining
I was introduced to this series by a brother-in -law, and I regret that this was my first read of the series. I am hooked on this genre, and I know believe that Mark Greaney is one of the best. Could not put this one down. It gets a bit unrealistic at times, but that doesn't detract from the overall power and excitement. Buy it and enjoy...

Following the money
Burner is Mark Greaney's latest Gray Man installment. This time out, the focus is dirty Russian money. A disaffected Russian money handlers passes on information (on a phone) documenting Russian money transfer to the West with the objective of stifling overseas operations. He engages a Swiss banker with a Ukrainian connection. The Gray Man is brought in to recover the info under the assumption that the intel documents US funds flow into Russia. At the same time, Zoya ends up handling the banker and ferrying him to New York where a forensic accountant will work magic on the info suitable for the press. Court and Zoya link up and go up against Russians as well as CIA as the info will reveal corrupt US officials on the take.Court does his thing, including underwater battles. Zoya struggles with a drinking and drug problem throughout, but is still in top form. The railroad action is intense. Greaney also creates (at least for this story) a Russian version of the Gray Man, replete with own moniker. While the CIA is due for a serious reorg (is Haney coming back?), there is also a new CIA player that is likely to be friendly towards Court in the future. The only ding to the tale is having Court take the rap for the CIA hit. With all the dead GRU goons around, Court has to take the blame. Really?

Written for a screen play
A previous book has been turned into a poor film and this book has been clearly written with that in mind. Some good plot points but too many action pieces are just next, next, next page fast forward as they are clearly written as scene notes for the film director. Two scenes in particular are: a car chase with a Porsche and a Ferrari, and a fight in the dark on a train: neither are engaging on the page but you can see them being acted out by Tom Cruise with drone cameras.A shame as there is a good story buried in here, ruined by too much cinematography.

The Gray Man takes us on another adventure full of action and subterfuge. This should be a movie. From the Caribbean to Europe and then the US, it has a delightful span.

Fast-paced and "can't put down" story.
The Gray Man series are action-packed and fast moving. "Burner" is no exception. This series had me hooked from the first book in the series. The downside then is that I cannot wait for the next book to come out. Mark Greaney is a good writer, and he does not get bogged down with "showing off" his knowledge of weapons that the ordinary person has no idea about. I usually skim over this content with other authors, as it usually does not improve the storyline. Mark Greaney simply gets on with the story and keeps the action going. I really appreciate that and I like the character, Court Gentry. I also appreciate Mark's eloquent writing, and good grammar and sentence structure. Can't wait for the next in the series!
