Fits VENMAR HRV CONSTRUCTO 1.5 Air Exchanger
Shipping was fast. I ordered it on a Saturday afternoon and it was delivered by Monday at 4 p.m.. Had it installed by about 8 p.m. Monday night. Here's my public service announcement:A local company had a $60 special for a furnace tune up/inspection. The technician noticed my air exchanger wasn't working. He told me Venmar was purchased by Broan and that there were no longer parts available to fix my Venmar air exchanger. He quoted $1600 to replace the existing unit. I decided to fact check that. The truth is Venmar was purchased by Broan-NuTone in 1995 and through at least the time when my home was built in late 2006, Broan-NuTone continued several air-exchange brands including Broan, NuTone, Best, vanEE, and Venmar. This replacement motor fits many brands and models! This Rotom R2-R462 and included capacitor nearly directly replace the GE motor: 5KCP84DFK143BP and capacitor found in my Venmar HRV Constructo 1.5 air exchanger. The capacitor is a larger oval shape than the old capacitor and wouldn't fit in the existing space utilizing the OEM capacitor bracket. I just used some zip ties and mounted it flat onto the motor. -see the pictureThe Rotom motor is quite and does it's job, time will tell how long it will last.It took me about five minutes to wrangle tools and then about five additional minutes to remove the black plastic box/blower motor assembly out of the air exchanger body. After the unit was out on the ground it took another 20 minutes to disassemble.Once the new motor came it took about 15 minutes to remove the wiring harness and capacitor mount from the old motor then splice the old wiring harness onto the new motor. From there it took about 45 minutes to reassemble the blower box assembly and figure out how the capacitor could be mounted. Part of that 45 minutes (maybe 10 minutes) was spent cleaning the crud/dust/dirt off the old blower cages, black box parts, and inside the air exchanger body. Lastly, it took maybe 10 minutes to put the black plastic box/blower motor assembly back into the air exchanger body. It's not "easy" but it can be done by one that is in possession of tools and some electrical and mechanical knowledge, skills, and ability. My advice would be to take a picture or two or maybe a video of each step when disassembling the unit. You might need a total of two hours to complete this project. I could tell the bearings in the old motor were shot when the shaft would slide back and forth about 3/8" of an inch.I also bought some new filters SV02300 for the unit. -see pictureGood luck with your repair! You can do it!!

Perfect Replacement
My vanEE 90H HRV motor died after 22 years. I decided to try find a replacement motor and do it myself. After some research on the model and specs, I found this Rotom motor. Thanks to the reviews on it, I felt confident it was the right one. The shaft length was identical to the old one and all mounting screw holes lined up perfectly. As mentioned in other reviews, the wires don’t come with connectors specific to the model of HRV, but that’s understandable, so make sure you have a way of splicing the wires, whether crimp splicers or solder. The wire colouring was identical to my old motor, so that made the job easy. I did a test by hooking up the motor before installing to ensure it worked. I also noticed that some reviewers said they didn’t receive a capacitor with their motor, but that was not the case for me. I did get a capacitor with mine. I didn’t actually use it, but will be keeping it as a back up since the original was still fine. This job, from start to finish, including cleaning of the HRV interior, disassembling the housing and removing the motor, re-installing the new one, is about a 3 hour job.

This motor saved me $1500 dollars to replace my old air exchanger.
My old motor burned out after 21 years of use. The company no longer makes the unit or replacement parts. I saw a review on Amazon that this motor would replace my old one. The only difference is the old motor as 1/15 hp and this one was 1/17 hp. Took the housing unit out and wired the new one in and working like a charm. The motor cost was approximately $140 and a new air exchanger would have cost $1600 . This is well worth the price and easy to install.

During work on the higher speed it is quite hot. The attached capacitor is quite big. Apart from that everything is ok :)
