Women's Crocheted Packable Raffia Hat,Natural,57cm

I really love this hat. I am petite and so is my head therefore I was concerned about the size. Normally a 55 cm and I believe this is a 57 cm, this hat comes with special hat tape that can be used on the interior band. I opted to use the outer hat strand to knot slightly tighter instead. That being said, the Scala hat is fabulous on. It can be dressed up by turning the rim downward for a more classic look and that is my preference. It also looks great as a Fisherman or beach hat as pictured. Either way, the hat has excellent shape retention, without any unsightly wire along the outer rim, like some other very casual hats I’ve tried, much to my disappointment. With the little adjustment in making the hat slightly smaller by tightening the outer string, this hat has a fabulous fit and look. It is cool while wearing it, providing great sun protection and it is stylish at the same time. Quality is excellent and I look forward to having a lot of use in the summers ahead. The price is a bit high, but the hat is cheaper than purchasing several other hats which will easily fall apart. As the old adage says so well, you pay for what you get.

I have a closetful of hats purchased over the years in my search for the perfect one. I can now dispose of or give away all those other hats....because I have found the perfect hat! I have taken this hat on 2 different beach vacations and have also worn it here at home all summer long. It is still perfect. It's very cute and it fits my big head. In the suitcase, it packs flat or you can tuck things inside it and around the brim....doesn't matter...it still comes out looking good. I sometimes pin a fun brooch to the hat or wrap a scarf around the brim. It is a versatile hat and well worth the cost...you will get a lot of use from this perfect hat!

I purchased this same hat many years ago and it was very comfortable, but it was looking a bit old. I was looking for a replacement. The one I was sent was not woven evenly and looked like it had holes in the brim. Also the brim looked like it had been overheated--almost looked melted. It was not up to the quality of the one I already own, so I sent it back.

This is the 2nd time I've purchased this hat. the first hat is still in good condition, but due to lots of rain and saltwater, it tightened up just enough it is a little too snug on my head for me to wear for long periods of time. that said, I have a larger head than some - lots of hats don't fit at all. I had the first hat for at least 10 years.

I had a Scala hat for over 20 years that I loved. I got caught in a heavy rain storm last year and it got a little bit out of shape although I still wear it. I was thrilled that I could still find the same one. It’s not exactly the same - it’s a bit lighter in weight than my original but it’s the same design and fits perfectly. It’s very versatile - it can be casual or elegant.

I have the same model hat and I've been more than happy with the quality of it, that hat has endured many Vacations and has handle being throw in the suitcase and getting wet jut marvelous but this new one that I order is huge, I'm sure it's the same quality but is way too big, very disappointed, I had to send it back.

This is a beautiful hat! Great style, and great quality, however, it's very large. It literally didn't touch the sides of my head. It just teetered on the very top and spun around. lol! My teen daughters and my mother tried it on, and it was slightly big on them as well. I never thought my head was small, and never had a problem with other hats, so I think this just runs large. I just ordered it in the petite size. I arrived in three days, was the same great quality, and fit perfectly! Love it! So cute! It'll look nice with any outfit....dressy or casual.My head measures 21 and 1/2 inches around where the hat sits. If your head is this size, or even a half inch or so larger, this hat will be way too big. Order the petite size.

this is my second of these hats. its predecessor lasted 6 years and i'd still be using it if my cat didnt decide it looked like a tasty treat and chewed it to shreds last summer when i left it in her reach, cute but stupid cat. i am sizing this as somewhat large, as i have a large head, and it fits me great. i would recommend people with small heads get a petite version of this hat. throw this on with a beach cover up or sun dress and you are ready for anything. i've worn this to a lot of different things, fancy brunches, lunches out, parties, cocktails on the water, back yard bbqs and pool parties, and of course the beach. its a wonderful accessory and packs well and provides good sun coverage to your face. i wouldn't say its crush proof, but its pretty crush resilient.
