I’ve been using the Garmin Index BPM Smart Blood Pressure Monitor daily for over a month, and I can confidently say it delivers both convenience and peace of mind. As someone who closely monitors their cardiovascular health, this FDA-cleared device exceeded my expectations. The setup was simple and quick—just insert the AAA batteries, connect to Wi-Fi, and pair with the Garmin Connect app. The built-in display is crisp and easy to read, which is especially helpful when I don’t have my phone nearby. I appreciate the one-touch operation—it’s user-friendly and requires no learning curve. What sets this monitor apart is its seamless integration into the Garmin ecosystem. My blood pressure and heart rate data sync automatically with Garmin Connect, where I can view long-term trends and share reports with my physician. This feature alone makes the Index BPM worth the investment. The adjustable cuff is comfortable and fits my arm well without pinching. Works well but takes a little finagling to make sure that you get an accurate reading.
Love the portability of this blood pressure monitor and that it automatically syncs with Garmin (via Wifi). You do need to make sure that you get the cuff on snug, otherwise you might get an incorrect reading.

Works great
Works fine. Pretty easy & straightforward. Accurate to my nurse wife’s manual readings. Sync works better than my Garmin watch. Glad that it’s FSA/HSA approved.

Really Disappointed. Inaccurate and inconsistent
I've used several different home BP monitors over the past decade. When my most recent one fell victim to a high impact incident with the floor, I jumped at the chance to replace it with the Garmin Index BPM. The chance to add my BP metrics to the collection of vitals in the Garmin ecosystem along with the expectation of quality and reliability convinced me to overlook the premium price point and a few negative reviews about accuracy..Oh how I was disappointed! The clever design of the angled face is annoying in practice. Rather than allowing the cuff to be wrapped around the body for a compact travel package, the angled face means that the cuff is bunchy and loose. The design of other cuffs I’ve used have a serious advantage for portability. But most troubling by far was the accuracy of the BP readings themselves. Multiple back to back readings with no other changes produced wildly different results. The readings would consistently vary by 25-30 points! Inconsistency was the only thing consistent about this cuff. Yes, I have also used the feature for 3 readings to average and yes, I’m very familiar with the importance of placement position. Comparing side by side readings at the same time with a different BP cuff, the Garmin BPM was all over the place and even the averages of readings were not in line with the other cuff or manual readings (the old school way). My experience unfortunately echoes that of others reviews that have found the BPM to be consistently inaccurate. After a month of trying to make it work, I have returned the unit. I will not buy another, and I would not recommend to others. I would go even further to recommend several alternatives (all of them cheaper) instead.

Heart Rate Data and Flawless Syncing
The Garmin heart rate monitor works flawlessly. The data syncs smoothly and instantly to my Garmin profile, which makes tracking workouts super easy. It’s comfortable to wear, accurate, and just does its job without fuss—exactly what I needed.

Easy to use but it averages three BP readings instead of recording separately
Setup was quite easy if you already have a suite of Garmin devices and the app. I have small arms so the wrap is too long and quite unwieldy. The monitor face is kinda heavy so a little challenging to put on with one arm but it just takes some practice. It connects to wifi and Bluetooth but in my opinion wifi is unnecessary, Bluetooth should be sufficient to sync with your phone and would probably make the device lighter and cheaper. The feature I like the most (next to it syncing with your app) is the option to read either once or thrice. As a scientist, I need more than one data point. The feature I hate the most is that IT TAKES THE AVERAGE OF THE THREE READINGS. I need each data point because each top number is connected to the bottom number. You can't just average out all the top numbers and all the bottom numbers and call that average BP systolic/diastolic. Ugh. Anyway, other than that, it's a BP monitor that reads your BP and syncs to your phone app (Garmin). The app is really the selling point here. It shows you if your BP is elevated, stage 1 etc. I'm very cautious about my BP so it's a time saver (and quite literally life saver) to have it all synced in my app. You can also have multiple user profiles in the BP monitor. It's quite expensive (you can get regular BP Monitors for $30) but I think if you already are a Garmin user, that's where the benefit of this product lies.
