TO USE, firmly grip the knife and lightly hold the sharpener. Starting from the inner slot - the coarse slot first, run through a few times in one direction, tilting slightly to the left and to the right, complete with the fine slot (the last outer slot) to polish and finish the edges, pulling through 2-4 times. Wipe clean with a damp cloth, to ensure that there is no little burrs left behind. FOR DAILY MAINTENANCE: use coarse and fine slots. Ceramic knives - It is important to remember that the Sharpener is designed for sharpening STAINLESS STEEL knives, therefore for ceramic knives use ceramic slot ONLY pulling through very lightly, without adding pressure.
