Over the past 10 years we have only trusted these collars. In total we invested in 11+. They are not waterproof, they are water resistant including slobber. We have sizes from small to large. Small for a pug beagle mix, medium for labs/ shepherds, large for great Danes and Pyrenees. They don’t seem to be bothered by the collars at all even when we double them up with their standard thick collars. They don’t unclip when they rough house, and the battery port is tucked so it doesn’t get destroyed. I normally charge them every 1-1.5-2 weeks. We have a larger property and 3 jet black dogs these collars help keep track of them. Even the other 2 it helps figure out who is where when we are rounding them up. Also during tornado season we always put them on and turn them on when a warning is activated for safety. We can see them from 2+ acres away. They are the best quality I have found, attempted tube collars and they were destroyed in seconds, the cost is totally worth the piece of mind to see them.

[UPDATE] Below is the original review I wrote. I'm updating this to say I'm even more impressed with Illumiseen's customer service. About a month after I purchased the collar, it stopped working. I'm very embarrassed to say that I later realized this was completely user error, but I didn't realize it at the time because things were a bit hectic for me. I emailed Illumiseen at the contact address they had provided me when I purchased the collar, and I asked if there was anything I needed to do with the battery or if they had any recommendations for how to get it working again. They wrote back right away and said that it shouldn't have stopped working and I must have gotten a defective collar, and they apologized for the inconvenience. They sent me a new collar which arrived very quickly. I haven't had any problems with the new collar, and I haven't double checked the old collar but I am almost 100% positive it was totally my fault that it stopped working and I am almost 100% positive I can get it working again. The collars tend to work (for me) for about a month of use and then need to be recharged, which is very easy to do. I put the collar on my dog only at night so she doesn't wear it during daylight hours.Also, one day I had a family member take out my dog while another family member and I had to go somewhere. It was pitch black in the middle of the countryside, with only the light of a few low-level wayfinder solar lights along the driveway and one light on the house. We drove to the country road and started to drive away, and I looked back to see if I could see the light of the collar. I could easily see a little yellow light shining, brighter than I expected, very visible. I'm not sure how many feet we were away but it was a lot. That property has a long driveway and my family member was walking in the middle of the grass at the time, on the side of the home that had no lights.----ORIGINAL REVIEW:I'm extremely happy with this collar so far. After I'd ordered it, but before they even had a chance to send it, I already received an email from Illumiseen giving me information about the collar and how to use it. Then I got the collar really quickly, and when I pulled it out it was very easy and quick to charge, and super easy to use. Illumiseen has also sent me another follow up email to make sure everything's okay and so I know who to contact with questions, and they said they'd send another in a few weeks. Their customer service, at least on the front end, is awesome.As for the collar, I have a miniature schnauzer mix and I bought the small size. It's more than big enough for my dog. I am not using it as her everyday collar; I slip it on at night and turn on the light, and then take it off when we get back inside. Keep in mind I've only had it a week so far, though, so I can't say anything about its long term use. But during that time I've really appreciated this. I have a rainbow light on my dog that cycles between all the colors of the rainbow... I've noticed that the green/blue light glow much brighter on that light so I wish I could ave gotten her the green collar but they didn't have her size in that color. I think the yellow is a nice second choice, however. It's definitely visible at night, and makes a bit of a comical shape of light because of how it bunches up the fur on her neck so when she looks around there's a pale circle of light around the shadow of her head cast on the ground. It provides me amusement and entertainment when walking her at night, which is always a plus ;) (It bunches up her fur because I specifically made it big on her so I could easily slip it on/off at night, not because of a problem with the collar)I've been very happy with this so far and hope it continues. This is my first LED dog collar so I have no frame of reference for comparison, but I will say I was impressed with their proactive customer service and that made me feel really good about purchasing from this company. Any company that cares enough to send their customers emails asking how things are going and giving them information ahead of time and providing a way to contact them if there are any questions or concerns, is a good company in my books.

my only issue with this collar is that there is no adjustability, and the size runs kind of big.A side of that the LED light is extremely bright and can see for a very long way. It seems to be very well made as well. It has multi functions for flashing, which I definitely would not use personally because I feel that the light itself is so bright that having it flash repeatedly will drive my dog crazy.A side of that the intended idea behind this collar is to be bright so that your animal will be seen from a distance and for that I give five stars.

Updated review November 2019 (four stars): The most recent collar we have purchased seems to have loose wiring. If our dog shakes while wearing it, the modes change, or the collar will just turn off, and it has been this way from when we first received it. The collar also doesn't seem to hold a charge well in freezing temperatures (somewhat to be expected, but important to note for those of you who live in colder areas). I reached out to the seller/company early on to request a replacement and have heard nothing. Unfortunately, we cannot rely on this collar for safety because it can turn off without warning. It's still helpful when our dog is out at night using the bathroom in our fenced in backyard, but I don't trust it to help us keep an eye on him when he is off leash.The other three collars I have purchased have worked great, so I would still recommend these, but there may be some quality control issues and the lack of response from the seller is discouraging. Definitely test out your specific collar before relying on it for off leash safety.Updated review October 2018 (five stars): I've bought four of these collars now. We have a mostly black dog that is nearly impossible to see in the dark, so I got this collar so we could locate him when we let him out in our fenced in backyard to go to the bathroom at night. It's highly visible (but not blinding), super easy to use, and the charge lasts a long time. I ended up buying two more for my mom's dogs, and just bought a replacement for our dog (he got skunked last night and the LED collar isn't waterproof, so it didn't survive getting a bath in skunk enzyme rinse).We've always bought the green color collar based on other reviews that it's the most visible color. My mom's dogs are two different sizes (a 12 lb poodle mix and a 65 lb lab) so she didn't need different colors to tell them apart. She walks her dogs for about an hour in the morning and again at night and needs to charge her collars once a week. Our dog mostly just wears his for his nighttime bathroom let out (5-10 minutes a day), so we can go a couple months between charges. As others have said, the collar can be more difficult to see on a longer coated dog (it's not as visible on my mom's poodle as it is on our smooth coated boxer/rottweiler mix), and my mom complains that the collar just turns off without warning when the battery dies, which has caught her off guard in the middle of a walk before. This collar is not waterproof and will not survive a thorough soaking or dunk, but it has done fine on our dogs while walking in the rain. It would be really nice if there was a plug for the charging port to make it slightly more water resistant, but I find it difficult to find things to complain about regarding this collar. Prior to buying this collar, I had a little clip on LED light that we used on our dogs regular collar, but the light was less visible from all angles, our dog would find ways to chew on it, and once the battery died I had to buy new cell batteries. I love that this collar is rechargeable. The LED strip is pretty stiff, so it can be a bit difficult to adjust the size of this collar for dogs that are on the smaller end of the size range, and the plastic buckle doesn't feel as heavy duty as some, but it has been secure for the four months we have had it and has not gotten brittle or shown any signs of deterioration. For the price, it's amazing and provides great piece of mind. Definitely recommended!In regards to my previous review> The stiffness does relax over time.
